Well done build series. Truly appreciated. I know you are a Swiwin dealer. A friends Kingtech blew the main bearings after 6 flights, with no warranty help either from HH. I'm thinking of leaning towards Swiwin. Obviously you trust them.

I thoroughly enjoy your videos sharing your expertise. I'm looking at joining the Turbine world. I will start the application process and logging hrs asap. A friend has the MB-339 and loves it. But the Turbine bearings failed after 6 flights. The brand offered by HH. Is this common? Would you recommend a different brand. Thanks in advance, Kurt

any videos of it flying? The decales look different does it come with options ive seen some with "ix14" and "specktrum" on the sides (this was on the launch video also.)

Not from me. It was shipped to the owner. He did fly it at Joe Nall and it was the best looking 339 of the bunch there as it had the light package! Decals come on sheets so you can install if you want.

I have really enjoyed all of your build videos on this airplane, as well as all of your other videos. They are great. I do wonder, why a Vanessa rig is not a cheaper, simpler and possibly more accurate method for measuring CG. No calculations required when using a Vanessa rig.

Hey! How you adjust acceleration? Couldn’t find it :))
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
On the Swiwin you can change it while the engine is stopped or while it's running. If you go to my website, under turbines you can find the manual there which is explained very well.

Love your videos and keep up the good work. I'm thinking about getting the plane. Some on forums talk about the weak landing gear and replacing with Electron Gear (which are too expensive!). Can you give a honest thought on the stock gear. Thanks.
@thelightersideofrc10 ай бұрын
Stock gear looks totally fine as long as you build it light! Some guys are using older heavy engines, adding smoke and all that I think pushes the plane over the comfortable range for the landing gear.

Jonathan how do you end fuel tank line for fueling? What type of connector is it?

The one we used in this plane is the Jersey Model Dry Break Fuel port.

Quick question: You programmed your cortex after you set up dual rates. I just got a cortex for my A.D. Phoenix, and it says to program with 100% throws and no dual rates on
@darrylpenson Жыл бұрын
I meant to ask if you notice any difference is cortex operation doing it that way ?
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
I don't use high or low rates. So if the aileron is setup with 20mm throw and the DR menu happens to be at 80% Travel, that will be 100% throws for the plane. It will never fly with more. After the maiden with trimming and adjusting travels, you re program the cortex and good to go.
@wargor Жыл бұрын
Another great video. I don't know if you covered this in the past, but do you ever use any of the Jeti assist receivers instead of the cortex? I've been using them in all my planes with great results. Just curious. thanks
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Thank you. I have not played with or installed a JETI Assist receiver. I have heard they can be a real chore to setup compared to the cortex.
@wargor Жыл бұрын
@@thelightersideofrc I use them in all my planes. To be honest, they aren't that hard to set up. you should try one in a small plane first before the jets. Less equipment is better in my opinion. Keep up the builds.
@sendit_rc Жыл бұрын
Instead of glue that could melt the plastic in the tip tank to hold the bec,why not use double sided tape and extra piece of fiber tape over that.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
That would work. Access is the biggest problem but the opening is fairly large.

Dear Jonathan, at minute 34:42 you review the CG of this MB339; Can you please explain better what the static CG and the dynamic CG would be with the tool (RCCG- MACHINE) that you use since this topic is very controversial in real life, this hobby and many others. Not all practitioners understand it and that is why they DO NOT APPLY IT having problems taking off, flying, etc. Even on airplanes with a rear wheel. thank you. Lucas.
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
Hello. I have no clue on the difference between static and dynamic CG. Sorry. Manual states to set it between 5" to 6" back from leading edge. We set to 5.75". Fly it and adjust it as needed.

Does it sit high enough so it can't suck up the grass at the flying field
@thelightersideofrc Жыл бұрын
always possible of course. intakes are quite high. It's likely that you will always get some grass sucked in the nose opening and intakes.

How does this turbine suck any air into it on this plane? It doesnt look like the intakes on the wings are functional.. They seem they are just for looks. So where is the are intakes for the engine to work?
@thelightersideofrc3 ай бұрын
The intakes you see on the wings at the root are the intakes.

@@thelightersideofrc Ok I see there must be holes in the wing root where it connects to the sides of the fuselage to let the air in the engine.. That's different...
