love seeing you progress man! How do you measure your bounds?
@matehj

Use the same start point each time and measure where I land after my last bound. Basically how they do triple haha. I also have a measuring tape XD

Does your body ever get hurt or worn out after doing a session on the track and then going to the gym right after?

Overall, no. If I worked out like this for weeks on end yes. But I have a deload every 3rdish week(depends how I'm feeling), and these hard workouts are at most 3 times a week. Also I never do these workouts back to back. It's all in giving myself enough rest.

Do you have any drills for seperating the jump going up and rotating over. I am struggling because I am rotating too soon so i am not getting high. I can scissor higher than i can back over. The rotation in the air also is confusing.

My advice is trying to figure out the flop from a two foot standing back over, then to a trot in two foot back over, then from a 3 step single leg jump, to a 5 step single leg jump etc... If that makes sense. Basically simplify and take the speed out of it, try to get comfortable jumping high with a flop from standing, to short and finally long run ups. Hope this helps, it's not an easy process but practice makes perfect!

Hello! this question is definitely from out the dark, but do you know if I'm able to use normal spikes for my Nike High Jump Elites?
@matehj
@matehj Жыл бұрын
Yeah ofc. They're all replaceable anything will screw into them haha

@@matehj Also, do I also use all 11 spikes on my non-plant leg?
@matehj
@matehj Жыл бұрын
@@hoonicals it's all preference. I don't put heel spikes in on my non jump foot but legit almost everyone else does. Stylistic choice I say B)

I am 5' 11" it is my first year, when I get around 5'9 to around my height I tend to just mentally get scared I guess not 100% sure what can I do to this. I feel like I am focusing to much on the height and not on the clearing.

I know other jumpers use an elevated box take off to practice big heights so maybe that could help you. Otherwise, practice. The more u do it the more comfortable u will become :) goodluck!

You ever hit deep butt to sneakers squats? Like with heels elevated?
@matehj
@matehj Жыл бұрын
I used to when I first started, but my hips don't like going that deep and I don't see value of full range of motion for track and field. So half squats in off season usually.
