US got to the finals thanks to the biased referees. They gifted them with 12 points from Phantom calls as well with no calls against them. France was in the final thanks to the referees too, as they lost to Japan, but the oficiales changes It all so France could qualify. Unicaja played relaxed, with soft defence and an abismal three points shooting performance.

I agree that Euroleague is 2nd best league but this was not only a G-League team it was a team that was put together for this tournament so they dont even have experience playing together like UNICAJA. It would be interesting to see this with actual cohesive teams. I still want to see Champs of each league play each other that would be cool

There's no actual cohesive team in the G-League, it's not the plan : the only goal each player has is to shine individually in order to play in the NBA. Period.

Do you really think that a G league team can compete against a top ACB league team. Players from the G league come here and need a period of adaptation to the league, to the toughness of the competition and even so, sometimes they are no good and they have to go to the minor leagues

@@carlosgarciafernandez1536 I don't know but I think if there were equal playing fields it could have been more of an actual metric. The fact one team has been with a coach and teammates over the course of a season in Europe and plays under FIBA rules all the time versus a thrown together team that uses NBA rules is not the best measuring stick. It would be interesting to see the same teams with more cohesion and maybe playing NBA rules to see if anything would change. Just a good thought experiment and love that basketball is competitive globally

The role that Toscano Anderson played in the NBA can be done by any Euroleague player (that fits the characteristics of the position, of course) and by all starters of all ACB teams. The G-League is nothing in terms of team plays and collective work, which is the fundamentals of basketball. I don't blame them for that, the NBA and associates are what they are, but you can't have the arrogance of looking down on a way more developed competition as the European is. No team in the G-League would win the ACB, no G-League team would qualify to the Top-8 of the Euroleague... you can't just be that ignorant just because you are American (Mexican-American in his case).

If you want to watch actual rule based team basketball. You watch Euroleague. If you want entertainment based individual And1 basketball. You watch American basketball. Entertainment base meaning traveling, carrying, moving screens, etc..

A team that has won national and international titles and competed 16 consecutive seasons in the Euroleague that by its own decision has gone to the FIBA. Captain (Alberto Díaz) is Spanish. Two Spanish players (Barreiro, Sima) started. Tyson Perez is Dominican-Spanish. Melvin Ejim is Canadian, Djedovic Bosnian, Balcerowski Polish, Osetkowski German-American, Tillie is French. So no, not Unicaja USA.
