Even though she’s never directly shown in the play, in my opinion Dorothy is one of the most tragic characters in all of Wicked, simply because EVERYONE around her is using her. If we assume that from Dorothy’s perspective, the plot of Wizard of Oz is unchanged, then everything Dorothy believes about her own adventure is a lie. To start with, her own house was intentionally used by Morrible as an accessory to murder, and Morrible presumably knew that her tornado brought a house from Earth and didn’t care about it’s occupants being collateral damage. Then, Dorothy is sent by the Wizard a on a murder mission based on lies she’s been told about Elphada, without knowing that she is on a quest to kill the woman who saved the Cowardly Lion, one of her friends, from captivity. And then, Fiyero, who Dorothy knows as Scarecrow, her first friend in Oz, manipulates her for his and Elphada’s fake death plan. There is no indication in the musical of how Fiyero really feels about Dorothy as a friend. Dorothy also never finds out about the full extent of the Wizard’s cirmes against animals, ending the adventure thinking that the Wizard is a friendly charlatan who saw the error of his ways. Except for Glinda, who was likely genuine in the advice she gave Dorothy for how to return home (I assume that she learned that the slippers could do that by reading the book Elphada gave her) that poor girl was used as a pawn by almost everyone around her.

Don't forget she was also used by Glinda in a certain way. I believe that because Glinda failed to side with Elphie during Defying Gravity she sent Dorothy on the path to the wizard hoping that she would uncover his cons and crimes

I wonder if someone has ever made a Wicked au where Dorothy somehow discovers the truth and she and Elphaba become friends. Maybe Elphaba gets to the Munchkin Village before Glinda and therefore can explain her side of things first, and then takes Dorothy back to her castle to protect her and try to find a way to get her home. Or maybe Fiyero, upon hearing Dorothy’s story, decides “heck no I’m not letting this 10 year old get anywhere near the fraud Wizard who wants to oppress animals and framed my girlfriend” and so cuts the brainless act, explains the real situation to Dorothy, and then convinces Elphaba to tone down the murder and take her in. I think someone should make an au like that.

Because the musical never directly shows Dorothy nor tells us anything about her, I am assuming her personality in the musical-verse to be exaclty the same as it was in the original Wizard of Oz.

I actually like this Glinda - the anger, exasperation & (majority of it being) disappointment she showed towards Madam Morrible & the Wizard was spot on! Truly years of guilt of not standing up for Elphie has come to surface. Even if not in front of the Ozians - her emotions rightfully pointed towards these 2 people that the 2 friends looked up toward. This Elphie seems to have a more softer exterior - she sees that Glinda truly is the 1 who WILL change Oz for the better. She sees that she has done all she could & she can rest w Fiyero. FANTASTIC JOB TO GLINDA (Austen) & ELPHIE (Lauren) & THE REST OF THE CAST!

"For Good" leaves most of us in tears, but I've yet to see a "melting" that's not cartoonish and conveys Glinda's devastation thinking her best friend has just died. Yes, I know what happens in the end (the show's greatest flaw, in my opinion) but to throw that moment away seems like a wasted opportunity.

They'd turn on yo in a second if you even try to say one word about their wonderful wizard...." and Glinda to reply: "Oh I don't intend to. Not yet. Someone warned me that the public would just turn on me if I said anything, and I think they were right. Maybe......in time, once people have calmed down a bit.....they might be ready. But I gave my word that I wouldn't try. But that doesn't mean I can't say anything. And if I say that their wizard is leaving in just the right way they'll listen to me. If I say that the Wizards Press secretary did magic that I and the Wizard did not approve of behind our backs they'll listen to me. You forget madame Morrible. I am Glinda the Good. The people love me now. Even if all I do is smile and wave, they love me. Just as much as they do their wizard. They'll listen to me."

I've never liked that Fiyero says they can't tell Glinda. His reasoning has never made sense to me, and since when does Elphaba just do what Fiyero suggests?

Fiyero is trying to keep both them and Glinda safe. If she knew, and someone found out, it would be as bad for Glinda as for Elphaba and himself. Their enemies are not gone just because the Wizard and Morrible are at least temporarily taken care of. Elphaba also knows this. He is telling her something that she already knows deep down and she also wants to keep Glinda (and Fiyero) safe.

Even if Glinda knew, it still won't protect them from the people of Oz who deems both of them (Fiyero & Elphaba) as traitors to the land and her knowing they're alive will just also put her in a dangerous spot as it would be deemed as helping the "enemy". Glinda's influence still wouldn't be enough to help persuade the people either as they truly believe that all of the horrors that had happened are all Elphaba's doing.

Imagine if Dorothy got to really know Elphaba and Glinda during her capture. I think Fifryo should have become some kind of archangel as the scarecrow doesn't make sense never mind what people insist on as this is personal opinion. The cowardly lion should feel the witch is somehow familiar. Just imagine if Elphaba was leading an exodus in the finale with help from Fifryo and Dr Dillamond. Before Elphaba leaves, she finds Dorothy and Glinda seeing her. A heartfelt goodbye is felt as neither party can ever see the other again.

I feel like the wicked witch acting wicked was all a complete act in order to fully go through with her plan to disappear. She played up getting "melted" when in fact she probably just got a bit of a skin rash if Dorothy hit her with water. Then she went into the trap door and hid.

I’m guessing elphaba casted a spell on fiero to become straws to not get hurt because she didn’t want him to get hurt since she liked him but lost his brain in the progress,the cub they saved was very scared in the forest becoming the cowardly lion,boq is the tin man lost his heart due to nessa finding out that he only had her bc of Glinda,but in the end as you see fiero helped elphaba fake her death :D and they get a happy ending🤣 Umm nessa died :p,Glinda is annoying👁️🫦👁️,boq is stupid for anoying Glinda👁️👄👁️,AND THE POOR CUB😭😭😭😭.Most of the events are from elphabas actions or from Glinda and her fam😅.BUT YEA FIYERABA FOREVER😍😍❤️❤️❤️

Yes there is! That way she isn’t alone at the end plus it completes his arch. Now he’s no longer really good looking and his mind and personality is at the forefront. And that’s also why he and Elphaba work as a couple, because they can see what’s good in each other when the rest of the world cannot. It’s a brilliant touch!
