WE was a strange book. I read it a couple years ago, always wanted to re re read it bc I feel like I missed a whole lot of something the first go round! 🤔😂 Exhalation sounds good, I love short stories. Hi Olive!😘💕

Sounds like a great reading month! I've been meaning to read Chiang's stuff ever since I saw "Arrival," but it keeps getting pushed to the back burner. Sounds like these stories deal with the kind of stuff that can keep me up at night. Well, at least when I'm not already awake because the dog's carrying on about a deer in the yard or a raccoon in the orchard. 🐕

Cute video as always. So sweet how Olive just sits and stares at you 💕 Who is the cutie walking in the background?

That’s her sister, Riley! She has no patience for our nonsense. I made her join us on camera once when we did a Dog Tag, and she couldn’t wait to get out of there 😜

🐕 Hey they don't seem to have "The Death of Grass" at the one million-book Brooklyn Central Library, I am pursuing other means of finding it but where did you find your copy?! They do have Chiang's "Exhalation" and I have reserved that 👍
@BookBlather6 ай бұрын
I just got it on Amazon. Mine is one of those print-on-demand versions (tried to hunt down an old copy, but they were too expensive). Did you check if they have “No Blade of Grass”? That’s the U.S. version, so I suspect that’s what US libraries would have.

I think Exhalation is my favourite ever short story collection. He still has a full time job so it always takes so long for him to release a new book. I did not enjoy We when I read it, my thoughts were similar to yours, I love the books it influenced though.

We was tough to get through, right? I really wanted to like it more. I didn't realize writing was a side hustle for Chiang. Have you read his other collection?
