@ramesh chand The Ninja is fully compatible with the A1... HOWEVER the Sony A1 will NOT output 8K to the Ninja!! It will output RAW, but at like 3.6K, as well as 4K 60P, etc. ... Please look at Gerald Undone's two excellent KZbin vids on the A1 and getting the best output out of it - Thanks!! The cables you recommend provide 10 bit color …. I’m concerned that may impact prores raw, since the camera output at raw is 16 bit and then converted by the Atomos to 12bit, so I guess the hdmi cable should handle 12 bit as a minimum, if you want to get prores raw with 12 bit color …. Hello sir, great video, really interesting. I wonder if I might ask a question to see if you might be able to offer any advice. I recently purchased a second hand Ninja Inferno 7” and the monitor appears to have the same issue you discuss in the video. I am currently using quite an old Sony camera (HVR Z5E) with an HDMI output. It can output 1080 25p externally and this is recognised by the Ninja Inferno. I am using an Atomos Pro Video HDMI cable, but I am still getting small drop outs. The drop outs occur either during recording or when I am just monitoring. I have played around with the HDMI input settings but the problem persists. Any ideas? Also, The SSD which I got with the Inferno is a Samsung 850 Pro. When I record, it captures the video, but creates a new file, when the cut out occurs. it is also displaying the SKIPPY sign (which I have now researched) and I have been reading about compatible SSDs. Any idea if this SSD is good enough for the Ninja Inferno and any recommendations for a better SSD. Thanks in advance.

Can confirm the Kondor Blue issues. I'm on my second coiled cable from them. Even though this one works, I'm always holding my breath when hooking everything up, and it definitely doesn't stretch enough for me to feel comfortable using it with the monitor on top of the camera. Again, it works, but it's not the most confidence-inducing experience. lol Had the same flickering issue with the first one on my a7S III and Shinobi.

Imagine my excitement when I found this video. Eureka! I have been having this input drop out issue since I purchased the Ninja V. I am trying to use it with my Sony HVR-V1U camcorder. I know it can be done becasue I've seen KZbin videos posted with the Ninja V and V1U setup. So, I ordered the cable you recommended. In fact, I was so excited I ordered two! I'm sure you can imagine my disappointment when the dropouts were just as bad with the new cables. I have over $1,000 into the Ninja along with 12 different sets of cables - all of which are no better than another regardless of whether they cost $5 or $35. I have a setup that won't do anything that I need. It wight as well be a boat anchor. Any thoughts?

Oh no! That really sucks, I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not 100% sure how it works with the V since I have the V+. And since the V+ can do 8K, I don't know if they changed the HDMI spec from the V to handle a larger bandwidth. My suggestion might be to actually be to upgrade the Ninja? Any firmware updates that were missed? Are you sure the youtube example with the Sony cam was using the same codec/bitrate as you? Just some ideas off the top of my head. I know that Sony can just be really picky with recording media + bitrate combinations. Even my A1 won't record 4K120p unless I have the correct SD/CFexpress card inside it.

Thanks, Dan, for the response. I have the latest firmware update. I have also tried several other recommended cables with the same result, including the very expensive Blue Condor Gerald Undone Mk2 cable. That cable was worse than most of the other ones I purchased! I have tried every recording setting on the Ninja V with every cable and with or without the SSD card installed. The drop out issues are the same. Early this morning I reached out to the person who posted the video of their kids using the HVR-V1U and the Ninja V. I asked what HDMI he's using and what settings he has on both units. Hopefully, he has some advice. Defective unit?@@DiscoverwithDan

I've had a pre-order on the R3 for a super long time and eventually cancel in favor of the A1. Better lenses that are MUCH quieter as well (most noticeably the 50 f/1.2 offerings, the Canon RF lens is LOUD). I haven't regretted the decision at all. Hi I have the same setup. I didn't really ever have trouble at 24fps. Only ever at 4k 60p where I'm really stressing the output of the camera.
