Dustin Silva Unlike what Mr. Rob Pridemore said I believe that whether you have more or fewer rounds an untrained or unpracticed shooter could still miss if using a caliber that is more for them to handle. This is why I stick with 9mm for my semi auto pistols because yes I can shoot 10mm at the range but in a stressful situation I wouldn’t rely on it. @@TexasDog3 I didn't mean using a 25. Acp. A 22. Would do more than that round. But with the right amount of precision, a 45. Could do some work to the bears knees.

So you carry a 22 short then? Cause if not, you've just undercut your argument.
@JoshBenware5 жыл бұрын
Flawed argument. If you want to compare shot placement, then compare shot placement. We're comparing calibers. If a person is shot in the heart with a 22lr or 44 mag, which will cause faster blood loss...that is the real comparison. Shot placement is not relevant when comparing calibers.

OMG, James Yeager is gettin’ ready for a counter attack. Hey, Yankee...can’t you understand that Yeager says that the only technology that has evolved is the 9mm? No other caliber has done the work...only the 9mm. DAMN IT!
@jhanks20124 жыл бұрын
is the 9mm the only cartridge that has evolved, or is it the only cartridge that has had to evolve? 🤔
@Turgz4 жыл бұрын
Considering 9mm is the standard round for NATO and is used all over the world and has been used for the past century it will be the most developed because it's the most relevant.

Do you mind me asking what you carry and if you carry +1? Appendix is the most comfortable for me, and I’m not super comfortable with carrying one in the chamber (yet) so I do trust I won’t have a misfire there. I know I give up crucial milliseconds racking the slide and all but just haven’t practiced enough to be confident for it. I have the P365sas so no safety or anything like that there. My 1911 id be more comfortable with but not my ideal conceal

I just saw this, and it's absolutely epic. All institutions related to the topic at hand should adhere to this; adopting it as the new standard globally.
@69sound814 жыл бұрын
Okay, very good place to start but not good enough to be a deciding chart. The power and energy of the round compared to a 9mm is a very good way to compare rounds (it would be a great thing if you could explain how you got to those values of the chart). But to select a firearm and a cartridge is more than that. Power into the target is the first. Ammo capacity is the second Being able to shoot it accurately is the third And being able to carry the firearm is also important. So those things should be taken into account in this case. 1) How much energy and damage can you deliver into the target with a certain cartridge and barrel length configuration (stopping power) 2) what percentage of rounds can you accurately deliver into the intended area of your target 3) how many attackers can you face with the given ammo capacity of your gun effectively disabling each one of them 4)how well can you conceal your gun and how comfortably can you carry it? That is the ultimate way to choose a gun and cartridge for yourself
