Looks great. Everyone is chasing Peak Design…and catching them on price. I mostly do video, and while I love the lighter travel tripods…they just are robust enough for video work. Makes me wish I had steered toward photography instead of video in college! Less to carry.

I use the Heipi tripod which is very similar to the Neewer. The centre column is actually a mini tripod so it has a three-legged centre column which wobbles less than a traditional one. It can also be detached just by pulling up and gets the camera close to the ground without having to take it off the ballhead. The only issue for me is that the tripod has clip locks! I much prefer the twist alternatives. If buying today though, I’d be very tempted by the Neewer, especially as it has a much better hook on the bottom of the centre colomn to weigh it down in windy conditions (I’m primarily a landscape photographer)

The best money I ever gave out was the crazy amount I paid for my Gitzo's, and I like the Monoball P0 head I got for the Mountanineer. Then again I like the twist legs.

I’m in Canada, so probably getting a bigger discount since our CAN $ is so low. I have the PD version, purchase on BlackFriday last year at a great price. If I didn’t this LT38 would be just fine.

Mmm Looks very much like my 20+ yr old Manfrotto aluminium with flip locks, Al to me has a more solid feel. Cheers

Well I would agree with my other carbon tripods - but you have to hold this one! It’s solid feel and superior construction will change your mind.
