You can't even recognize the old, abandoned Japanese house anymore right? And these changes happened after 'only' 4 Months of blood sweat and tears!
Wait till you see how it looks after 5 Months!
There is still so much to do, I need to build the staircase together with my carpenter Kazuki-san for example! You will be amazed what will happen in the next Tokyo Renovation Diaries episodes!
Thank you for following along!

As someone who does tile work. I prefer neutral colors for the kitchen. A white color will keep the brightness of the room as opposed to something else. Since its part of the living room/dining room that is really going to dictate your choice of tile to fit the rest of the room. If you have to pick a color blue is good. I don't know your options in Japan but you might even want to considered larger tile pieces. You can even get a marble looking ones that are print and they look really good. Anyway put it on the backlog because the tile is one of the last if not the last thing you should be doing. Make sure all the electrical and plumbing can get to where its needed, appliance choice, cabinet choice, and then countertops (in that order) done first.

Havnt you allready showed the whole finished apartment in another youtubes "show me where you live" reel/short? To be honestly is was really disappointing because I was loving these progress videos and it spoiled it all.

I like L shape kitchen idea. You do not want to block the windows with a refrigerator. I like light colored tiles with the wood beams.

Loving this series so far! Really integrating the swedish style while enjoying the Japanese features. I wouldn't personally keep the short walls on the second floor. But it seems that you are having the best of both worlds. Keep up the good work👏

Ain't that the reason? I mean I have lived in pretty cold places. It really sucks to stay inside during weeks and even months and I sure would love to bathe/soak in the outside when possible

Although illumination is great, I agree with you it is still dark by the color of your hair when indoors: instead of blonde, it looks quite dark, almost brown (or you dyed it ?) Anyway, renovation is taking good shape, good luck and great job!

White tiles, not blue!! Also, by all means ditch the pebbled glass. It’s horrible. I live in a place in Kyoto where almost all the windows are pebbled glass and it’s like being underwater.

SO COOOOOOOOOOOOL! I could lie down on that tatami floor for all day!! I’ve been looking for a small house for rent in Nezu area but it’s really hard to find decent one. Maybe I should buy one myself and renovate it? It seems a lot of effort though🤔

How are you managing fresh air; and are you "air-sealing" as they probably do in Sweden? I'd guess Tokyo has fairly dirty air. (It did when we lived there, years ago) Are ERVs an option? Thanx for the content.

I wish you would mark your videos for the ones that are specifically dealing with renovating your home. I like all your videos but I get frustrated trying to find the ones on your renovation. That was why I started watching in the first place.

I’ve watched a few of your videos about your house, but i haven’t seen you yet talk about the architectural designs or planning permission and you seem to be changing decisions on the fly? Don’t you have to submit confirmed plans to be approved months in advance and resubmitted when you change your mind? I’m surprised a lot of what doing is allowed by the city office.
