Hey…thanks for making these DOF videos. I just received my P3 and I’m having some problems. The DOF Facebook community unfortunately hasn’t provided many suggestions. Don’t really know where else to turn. After powering up the motion box, I get what I would classify as "unusual" movement in the chair and spooling of the motors, it stabilizes and stops after a few seconds. I put SRS in test mode to check movement with the sliders. Yaw and roll appear more or less normal to me, or in other words, look like they are working as I would expect. However, pitch is off. Rather than being simply pitching up or down, it appears to pitch down and to the left or up and to the right. When this happens, it is,clear that only one of the front motors is working. At one point, it started to work correctly, but after shutting down and trying again later, the problem started again. Only the chair is installed. No other devices, peripherals or mounts. What am I doing wrong? Is it possible that DOF mislabeled motor 1 and 2? Do the couplers need to be installed in a particular way? It was really hard to tell from the assembly video. I really appreciate your advice. Thanks!

Sorry about the late response but this sounds like a hardware problem. What you are describing is not normal. Have you tried to contact DOF Reality directly?

Where can you buy a seat for it? since DOF don't include a race seat, I'm interested in getting the P3, but not sure where to buy a seat for it, any ideas or where did you get your seat? 🤔
@Redmist370Z Жыл бұрын
My seat is an aluminum Ultra-Shield racing seat out of my track car. I used it because I had it laying around. But it did require almost as much work to install it in my track car. So, assuming you don’t happen to have a race seat laying around you can make any seat work. BUT you will need to do some custom work/fabrication to make it fit. Think of the DOF Reality rig as a framework or blank canvas. As a starting point, plan to get a set of wide seat mounting brackets. And don’t be afraid to drill new mounting holes, use spacers, cut the bracket if necessary, etc… FWIW Aluminum seat brackets are more expensive but easier to drill and cut.

New Sub here and hi there, I was looking out for this video to see your final thoughts on this, and so far so good accept can you please tell me how much more realistic to you does it feel over the old motors? 1.) Is it worth the money to be a much better upgrade in Racing and flying Sims. 2.) What about roller coasters if any that you have tried does it feel over those old motors? 3.)How much more smoother does it feel when in use? Looking forward on a few more opinions on this before I pull the trigger and thx again for the time and content you have provided.

I’m looking for a POF p3 unit, but will you tell me what steering wheel and pedals you’re using? Thanks in advance
@Redmist370Z Жыл бұрын
My steering wheel is an Accuforce Pro V2. It is an really old design (released about 7 years ago) but I love it and they are constantly upgrading the software. Are the new wheels better? I just don't know. My pedals are Fanatec V2's (old version). I am not crazy about them.

@@user-ep8kb7fk1z I bet 80% of the people on Iracing are using a Logitech or thrust master. It makes perfect sense to start with one of those wheels.

I don't know if I would say easy. But If you were able to build a DOF Reality Rig you can do this install. Just like the rig there are parts of the install that you have to figure out/improvise (for example are you going to install with the seat attached). I would say take your time and be patient. I am not always great with reaspose time but feel free to message me if you have a question.

The only type racing that much travel might be experienced is off road racing. Either desert trucks or rallying. Road race cars do not create that type of movement. Unless of course you are wrecking badly. LOL

Personally I couldn't live with the slack in the system, the whole rig was moving while you were talking. The DOF is great for those who also enjoy flight sims and who are on a budget. For me I went with the GS5 seat for not much more money and I'm of the opinion that less is more when it comes to motion, especially in VR. The main benefit from the 4 post actuator "snobs" is that it mimics suspension movement, that's one of the most important aspects of it. That's also a reason why the likes of Sigma use extremely quick 4 post actuators with minimal travel for their DK2 system.

@@Redmist370Z Just throwing it out there that the GS5 seat is a fantastic option for entry into motion for sim racing, especially when combined with the G Belt 😀 I don't have a 4 post motion but if I was to get one it would be the DK2 Also pointing out that if you have a VR headset with inside out tracking then exaggerated motion cues get captured by headset, which is why motion compensation is needed for some motion systems. A really well setup and good motion system shouldn't need motion compensation enabled.
@meejmuas86862 жыл бұрын
@@markcrooks1631 Ive never thought about motion rigs throwing off VR. I use the HP Reverb G2 and if the rig disrupts the inside out tracking, Id have to consider getting outside motion trackers too, which would add more to the bottom line
@markcrooks16312 жыл бұрын
@@meejmuas8686 yes the G2 is sensitive to motion in a rig, I have one it's great. As I said if the motion of your rig is getting picked up in VR and throwing you off or does not feel right then it's not a sign that you should be getting better VR tracking it's a sign that you should be fixing the motion settings in your rig! Some people are more susceptible to it to than others, less motion and more accurate motion is typically better in those cases
