I do the same with scraps, but my bags are not as sturdy as yours. I like the idea to precut for future projects. 👍

Love this! I loosely organize my scraps mixing solids and patterns in the same color family but it still takes time to sort thru them to find what I need. when working on a project. Your system seems more organized and efficient. I also use the dollar tree placemats to make a tote to store the scraps my granddaughters can use when they visit since all 3 are crafters. Have a wonderful 2023!

Thanks for sharing this idea because I have a big container with my scraps thrown in them. I know I need to get more organized with my scraps, so I plan on ordering those plastic sheets so I can separate them by color. Thanks again, and I wish you a very Happy and Blessed New Year to you and your family.

I would file my rosette papers that I have scored together so that when I wanted to make a rosette I could grab one "rosette" sleeve and see what I already had prepared. That seems faster to me instead of having to go through all the sleeves to find what I have already prepared.

As a card maker, I have no idea what size of paper I will need until I design the cards so would not think about cutting them before then. But I like the idea of pouches of some kind to keep the scraps in. For solid cardstock, I keep the scraps with the whole sheet so that they get used before cutting into a new sheet. Right now, they are a mess because I store horizontally, but am switching to vertical and the pouches will definitely be needed. I was thinking of using page protectors for 8 1/2 by 11 papers. I always find them at thrift stores rather reasonably priced. Do you think they would be a viable alternative for scrapbookers?

I've used my scraps for making "franken-paper", or patterns that look like a patchwork quilt for covering journals or notebooks. I've loved the way they turn out. This gives me some good ideas on how to store what I have though.

These are really nice pouches to put scraps in. Thanks so much for your efforts to give us new ideas! I have all my paper in 12x12 and 8.5x11 drawers. They are sorted by color and prints by category so they’re easy to find. So when I finish my projects, my scraps go back in the top of the drawer so that I pick those up first to see what I can use before grabbing a full-sized sheet of paper.

I do something very similar however I use plastic vinyl record sleeves. They are 12.5 x 12.75 100 for about 24 dollars. There work great for me. Just another idea as these hold ALOT of sheets of paper

I think a lot of us had this thought over the holidays! I too have sorted my paper. I have basic colors sorted into Red - Plain or Red - Pattern or Red - Christmas etc. I also put my most used categories all together like; Dogs, Italy, Construction. It will be so much easier to find things I'm looking for. I seem to spend a ton of time looking for a certain green paper but not being able to find it. It will also be easier to put away newly purchased paper because now everything has a place to go. Now I just have to find a container for my washi tape... LOL! Thanks Sherry for your wonderful channel. I learn so much and appreciate the time you take showing us your crafting. I hope you, your sisters and families have a great New Year!

I love this idea! I use the 2.5 gallon bags for my scraps. The bags are flimsy, but the bags zip at the top, and I love that. Also, if I don’t have a lot of the same pattern left, I go ahead and pre make gift tags, bookmarks, etc with my scraps. Then I store those. Easy to grab and use!

I work a full-time job, so not a lot of time on my hands. I've always struggled with my scraps, and all that sorting would work for about a month until I completely lost control again. So this past year, I devised the simplist of scrap storage, and it's been working great for me. I cut all Mt scraps down to be no taller than 6". I make mostly cards, so this works great for me. All patterns, whether paper or cardstock, go together. All solids, the same thing. When I am looking for something blue in a pattern, I go to the pattern bin, and you would be aged at the possibilities. I also go to my scraps first before cutting anything new, and I try to make at least 2 cards from just scraps a week. The piles are getting smaller!! And when it comes time to clean up my space, I spend less time doing it because all patterns and all solids have their own bins; easy, peas, lemon squeezy!

My big scraps are in cricut pad cardboard box, cardstock, spare part cuts, vinyl all in their own Manila envelope. I'm lazy 😆

I store my smaller scraps in clear stamp cases and the larger scraps in with the paper pad it came out of. Since I buy my paper mainly from one company I have a case for each color. I will also punch or die cut shapes and store those with the colored scraps. The clear stamp cases all fit on the same size shelf as my stamps. The larger papers fit in my paper storage containers from a company that I have been buying from for years. I wish there was a way to show you a picture.

Good idea. I was putting patterned scraps in a baggy and placed with the coordinating pad, solids I place with the Cardstock that coordinates. Then I have a clear envelope of scraps that are , white, cream and black. Small pieces I use to add dimension to cards instead of foam squares.

Thanks for the tip about storing in the large 12x12 pockets. I think that'll really help me use up the larger pieces I have. I've already separated the smaller and medium sizes and I've found many times that I'm able to use those vs cutting into a new piece! Thanks for all your wonderful content and positivity. Happy New Year! --Kristin

I did this earlier this year with my scraps except that I did not put them all in the sleeves. I made a divided box to put some of the smaller pieces in dividing them by color and size and kept that box close to my desk when crafting. I watched your video on cleaning your tools and it inspired me to clean my glue gun. I used one of the glue erasers from dollar tree and some good old fashioned elbow grease. I will be cleaning my mat the same way tonight. Thank you for all the inspiration you give to all your subscribers. Be safe Sherri.

I have an accordion file for my solid scraps, but I keep my patterned paper together by collection. Right now, I either use the original packaging or a gallon sized zip lock bag if the packaging is damaged. I might switch to the envelopes you are using. I just had the idea of page protectors in a binder. I have 12x12 page protectors...

I do something very similar to this. I have the 12X12 paper organizers & I store my regular white, heavy white, texture white & so on in these sleeves & it's so much easier to take from the shelf that I have (bakers rack). For my scrap colored pieces I have zippered pouches that I put the pinks, blues, yellows etc. in. because these are smaller pieces & luckily enough the zipper as well has various colors on the pouches. So I just look for the zipper color & know I have all that color in it. My patterened papers, well, ya, that needs help. Right now they are just in a box under my work station. This video was excellent Sherry. Happy you made it. Be well, be safe & TYFS

I was wondering if you ever do glue books and/ or junk journals. I noticed that a lot of the supplies on your Amazon site are suitable for doing both. I recently started to create a glue book and have watched my fair share of videos on the topic but if you dabble I would love to see some of your work. I like that you stick to your topics and don't editorialize like other video creators do. Talk about a way to use up scraps!😊❤️
