It's not about ugly it's about functionality and besides that once the blowers are sitting on it even if it's not painted up nicely😮
@michiganengineer86219 ай бұрын
Riley, since you have a gravel driveway, maybe shorten the "lift chains" for the blowers to hold the front slightly off the ground when they're in the operational position. That way you don't need to worry as much about throwing a rock at Courtney (or a random window/windshield) while you're getting the snow out of the way.
@ronarant28979 ай бұрын
Good idea!
@MrEgigas9 ай бұрын
Also thought the same. The blowers could be elevated off the ground just a hair. Pre-tensioning the chains would be easier than building spacers. Another idea is to put a pin on the front of the tire cradle for ease loading/unloading the blowers. Connect all of the wheel cradle fronts to one bar for a single pin operation. Like lowering the back gate of a trailer to drive up the gate as a ramp.
@dmwi15499 ай бұрын
All those rocks! Ouch! They said once the driveway freezes it gets better. However, if you put each blower on the concrete floor and adjust the runners down on each side so you can slip a paint stick between the bottom scraper and the floor, the snowblower won’t eat as many rocks.
@questionblechoices9 ай бұрын
I was gonna say just adjust the builtin runners.
@michiganengineer86219 ай бұрын
@@questionblechoices That works if what you're clearing is quite flat and pretty level. Not so much if there are lots of bumps and ridges. I found that out the hard way when clearing a "racetrack" in the snow for our dogs in the backyard, 3 rather short legged dogs that didn't appreciate having to do their business when the snow was halfway up their sides!
@j.j.clingman40839 ай бұрын
Since you are so good at making stuff and can weld you should definitely build a tall V to put inbetween the snow blowers!! That would help direct the snow to both blowers and not leave a pile inbetween the snow blowers!!! I’m actually surprised that the snowblowers are just sitting in the cradles that you built for the snowblowers!!! I would definitely think that they would have a tendency to lift and possibly come out of the cradles??? I think that I would build a couple hook spots where I could hook a strap in front of the tires for tire and wrap the strap up and over the top of the tires and hook into another anchor spot behind the tires!! This would definitely help keep those expensive blowers in place and not have a tendency to jump out of position!!! Definitely a very cool build for sure!!! I’m always coming up with cool ideas my self to make things easier on me or anyone else and I can build most of the things that I have in my head but I just don’t have all the necessary tools to make it happen!! I’d definitely love to get a plasma table along with a good size lathe and those two things would definitely be able to make any parts that I would be able to use!!! A metal lathe is definitely a awesome piece of machinery that can make just about anything!!! It’s the only tool that I no of that would be able to make its self!!! Awesome video!!!!

December 2022 (South Ontario, Canada), the news started scare-reporting about a big snow storm coming in a couple days. After watching tiny homes/van life videos for years, I wondered if I could venture into solar power. SO, I bought 1x 100 watt panel, 1x moto master deep cycle battery, 1x 2000 watt pure sine inverter. It worked...it was fun...but no where near powerful enough to power house basic needs. So, I spent a lot of 2023 investing in more panels and more batteries. Currently, i can power the major appliances (fridge, washing machine etc) via solar...mostly during the day.

The two of you have impressed me greatly and the only thing that you have made the has out done ALL your projects and hard work is that bundle of joy by the name of ( Oliver). One cute kid, must be from mom’s side. Ha Ha

I had one of those snowblowers and returned it because the 2 batteries barely completed my driveway with the little snow we’ve had so far this year. Sure you can add a 3rd battery but at $500 for the battery alone and the high cost of the blower itself I’ll stick with gas. It did throw the snow very well and I’ve heard Toro also has a 10Ah battery now so battery life will be better. My new gas blower will work in a power outage and it takes a minute to refuel as opposed to several hours to recharge. The main reason I bought the Toro was how quiet it is and working shift work I could use it at 2am and definitely not disturb my neighbors.
