The night sweats could be related to pain meds especially the strong ones. I find if I’m having a bad run of break through pain I get night sweats.

Not on TPN but my fridge gets extra cold at the back and stuff freezes there. (It’s an old fridge so the back wall regularly freezes/defrosts) but I think it’s not uncommon to get cold spots in the fridge

You are spot on about going in the hospital. I feel the same way. My family and friends will say, when I’m in a flare or need a procedure “YOU NEED TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL!” Ugh.... no, please, let me sort this out at home, in my own bed. Yes they are great nurses who help but.... sometimes it’s just a downer which reminds you that you do have a chronic illness. Stay strong 💜

I wish I could give you a hug, Amy. I know that feeling of needing someone to talk to 'now' and you just can't for whatever reason. I've had gastro pain for a month and the doctors don't know why. I was in the hospital for almost four months with a small bowel blockage. I lost 50 pounds in that time frame and 12 inches of bowel. Now I’m having elevated ACT and AST and awaiting to see if they will still do a full hip replacement on July 22. I’m not sure if my numbers constitute putting off a much needed surgery. I have right hip dysplasia and end stage osteoarthritis so I’m in constant pain and walking causes my hip to bounce in and out. I’m sure my pain is nothing compared to yours. I love watching your videos and following your story. God bless and I pray your pain has lessened.

Hi doll. I've been watching your videos for ages and just wanted to sincerely thank you for shining light on the reality we go through. I have eds type 3, lupus, gastroparesis, diabetes, necrobiosis lipoidica, etc. I'm in the US in Kentucky & am having no progress in finding help. Some of the best places have straight up told me they just cannot help me. Anyway watching your videos helps me feel not so alone and less discouraged. I need to find help asap but I just wanted to take the time to thank you. I wish I had a way to talk to you one on one in chat form or something. So many questions just to try to help myself until I can find the true help I need. Anyway this comment is way too long as it is so sorry for rambling. Just please know you're helping people across the world. I love you hun. Take care~

Can you make a video about how you’re able to keep the jewelry in your piercings for procedures and imaging? I can’t take mine out either but no one understands that, so I always end up having to take them out and then repiercing them and starting the healing process over and dealing with the complications that come along with that. I wasn’t even aware there was a way I could keep them in for these things

some of my TPN froze when i got a new fridge and accidentally set it to way too low of a temperature haha and i was told not to use it! i can’t remember exactly what they said, but they were worried about something to do with the filter, what to do if an icy chunk were to get in the tubing, and they weren’t sure if/how the formulation of the TPN would change after freezing, if that makes sense? sending you loads of love!💛

Dear Beautiful Amy, I can relate to what you are saying about the horrible night sweats and the malaise they cause!!! Please get more REST for your body to recover from these times!!! That is my main concern for you...that you are not resting enough!!! Your body is GOING THROUGH SO SO SO MUCH WITH THE HEALING FROM THE HIP SURGURY AND ALL THE ONGOING ASSALTS THAT COME WITH YOUR ILLNESSES!!! Those night seeats are like taking a bath in your own "bodie's water" and PJs and bed sheets...so draining of energy and FLUIDS!!! I WORRY FOR YOU, as i do about myself when this happens to me, about a viral or bacterial infection or an imbalance of nutients (???) that the body is trying to flush out?!?! I FEEL AND KNOW YOUR MENTAL FATIGUE FROM THIS STRESS OF NOT KNOWING WHY along with EBERYTHING ELSE!!! I feel your pain and gripping confusion about this exhosting night body storms, drenching "bathes"! Have you BEGGED your DOCTORS for a REASON for this? Have you told them how draining, exhosting and worrisome they are? My body goes through this at times. I have severe gastroparisis and illnesses very similar...the formulas kerping me alive etc. and SO JUST WANT TO EAT NORMAL HEALTHY FOOD AGAIN!!! But my body would do this at times even befor the extreme gastroparisis began... I wish i could give you more comfort in dealing with this!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ Please know I'm sending LOVE to YOU DEAR LOVELY ONE!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ I PRAY THIS ALL GETS BETTER SOON!!! BUT FOR NOW, GIVE YOUR BODY THE REST YES REST THAT IT NEEDS! ! ! ! AND DO NOT FEEL GUILT OR SHAME FOR ALLOWINH YOUR BODY THIS VERY E S S E N T I AL MEDICINE CALLED R E S T! ! ! ! ! ! ! I'm 60 years old now....have gone through so so so much and regret not allowing my body the rest it truly needed. I pushed myself too hard and became much worse because i didn't give my body the healing time ...the cleansing tecovery time it needed to right itself to its best potential after times of great body stress like the hip surgery!!! That was such a major MAJOR CRISIS for your already struggling body!!! So, i love and respect you so much for pushing for the best & fastest recovery, but my intuition tells me, AMY NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN AND REST AND ALLOW HER BODY THE ENERGY TO FOCUS ON HEALING RATHER THAN FEARING POOR GRADES FROM THE HARSH SCHOOL OF LIFE!!! You are allowed to have radical vacation of recuperation!!! Too much is going on at once for you to rest and recover properly, is what I truly feel. With the GREATEST LOVE and RESPECT for YOU!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ YOU MUST NOT FEEL DEFEAT FOR ALLOWING AS MUCH REST AS YOUR BODY IS BEGGING FOR!!! LOVE LOVE LOVE TO YOU!!! I hope I've said helpful things for you !!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ LOVE YOU!!!♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ (Sorry for repeating myself so much, but i really do love you and hope and pray you feel no guilt for getting some extreme REST NOW! YOU have inspired and helped so many....time for a bit of JUST YOU HEALING from major surgury!!!)

I was on TPN for six months but mine never got frozen. I'm very malnourished again but I'm hoping for a j tube I think. My malnourishment comes from my gastric bypass back in 2002. I did extremely well up until 2012, I began to get sick. It wasn't until 2014 that they began to figure out all the things that are wrong with me. I got better after I finally got well, now I'm going back down & my bloodwork shows I'm very malnourished again.

If the TPN bag is touching the back of the fridge or if it's too close it can get frozen. I think that you didn't have this problem before because the liquid in the bags were less. Unfortunately it's a common fridge issue.

I see my GP today and dreading it. Since our Government has gotten on the cut back of opioids, GP's attitudes to chronic pain sufferers sucks. My last appointment was a major set too. It didn't matter that I'd had major surgery and only half way through my healing period. I really worry about our future, as an aged patient with 48 surgeries behind me, just what is the Government going to enforce on us chronic patients?

I know how it can behaving to depend on others for things.

You have probably answered this question a million times but I havent seen it. Did you develop this condition over time or were you born with it?

Not TPN but the fridge in my garage always freezes any liquid in there. Whether that be water, soda’s etc. I’ve literally tried everything to fix it but nothing worked. But the fridge settings might be to low and that’s what causing your TPN to start slightly freezing. Hope this helps! Also hoping your hip is doing better, I see from the vlogs your starting to walk around your house! Also about the night sweats, I 100% know what you mean when you say it’s not like sweat from working out. I’m on pretty high pain meds (chronic pain disorder) and ever since I started them I get super hot at night and even when it’s 64 degree I still get night sweats. I sometimes sleep with an ice pack behind my neck cause it helps cool me down! Anyways hope some of these help! Love from California 💜💜💜💜

How long can you have the same feeding tube in for?
@SysVerse
@SysVerse 5 жыл бұрын
Emily Contant I have j-tube and I find it depends but the common seems to be 3-6 months and you schedule to change it. Mine won’t seem to stay in past the 2 month mark as the balloon still full pops out of my stoma. I have a long j-tube/dangler not a button. I also don’t have a g-j-tube like amy or rather as she and others call it a peg-j. Or is it peg-g-j. I dunno I just know I don’t have that lol. So every 2 months I schedule for a change because at that point my tube is wore down from continuous use and starts to clog easier. It also runs the risk of pushing itself out of me because of my lax tissues. That has happened multiple times now. I really don’t recommend it lol. So to be proactive I am on a 2 month protocol, so I hope that gives you insight. People with g’s also usually follow the 3-6, to whenever it acts up change it out. Especially if they’re g buttons. Those can easily be changed at home or in the drs office or ER. J/pegs require interventional radiologist to look up on moving x-rays to see what the heck is happening as they’re shoving the longggggg tube in. To make sure it is in place. It is lots longer than you would expect and my first change out was an emergency and my first change all together because I had a stupid dr who knew nothing about tubes and told me I would have my first tube forever. Which is a lie. Seeing as they have to be changed pretty routinely. But overall with continuous changes 3-6 months you can have a feeding tube for life. From birth to death. Hope that helped! I’m sure others have more info to give!
