I personally think there are mosques that misunderstood the function of mosque. Even from Prophet Muhammad (SAW) time, mosques were built to serve the community. For shelter, a place to gain knowledge, to rest, and to bond with the community. It will help kids get closer to Islam, help adults with their lifestyle. There is a saying, "if the mosque has no sound of children's laughter, then it's a 'dead' mosque"

Senang cerita nothing compared to Malaysia, maaf bukan nak merendahkan negara sendiri tapi itulah hakikatnya. Semoga dipermudahkan segala urusan mereka. Yg belum follow mereka saya cadangkan ikutilah sb sangat interesting. Sekali lagi tkasih kpd semua yg memberi sokongan buat saudara kita ni.

I understand the feeling of being minority and the need to explain certain things since not many people aware about Islam/Muslim in a country like China. 26:10 Telekung refers to a hijab worn almost exclusively for praying. It covers the whole body, except the face. There are those who do not wear telekung during prayer, but most Muslim women in Malaysia will wear it during prayer. Telekung has a hijab cloth that is long up to the knees so it can cover our upper body part. It usually paired with a sarong cloth (loose-fitting skirtlike garment formed by wrapping a strip of cloth around the lower part of the body) that slides down to the floor that can cover legs without a person having to wear stockings. The name varies from place to place. In Malaysia, we called it telekung but in Indonesia, they called it Mukena. You can find this special prayer clothing in countries in Southeast Asia such as Indonesia, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Thailand, Singapore. Of course, it is not a must to pray in this clothing but we find it very comfortable to do prayer wearing those. Especially when your socks are wet or have dirt or when you are at home wearing a short-sleeved shirt, you don't have to change your clothes, just wear this clothing and you are ready to pray.

@rk-br9ft Singaporeans (because of Singapore govt stance) are pragmatic - as a tiny country, we are allies to US and China for citizens' benefit. The govt works closely with middle eastern countries because of foreign investments. Economy is always the deciding factor. 15% population is Muslim, though small, is significant and because we're surrounded by Muslim countries, the govt knows the Muslim community needs to be taken care of. The non-Muslims here are well aware of that too. Racial riots in the 1960s made that clear. It's something that the govt has made clear that it does not want to ever happen again.

Next visit to malaysia please stay at putrajaya for at least 2 nights. You can walk by the lake near the steel mosque at night. There's a food truck area nearby & on weekends especially you can see people having picnic around the lake. If you crave halal chinese, indian or local food, head to Ayer 8, there's a lot to choose from & at night you can rent a bicycle to cycle by the lake. It is pretty safe in putrajaya. I used to jog by the lake from putrajaya to cyberjaya at night.

most masjid in Malaysia also has separate prayer place for women and men with a curtain or wood borders, but Masjid Besi is open style one.

You may open business in China and later branches in Malaysia. So you may always come here for businesses not only as tourists. Even so many Malaysians also have business in China. Typically for trading goods

But they're not from xinjiang.. they from yunnan but live in Beijing.. I guess its because Beijing is very metropolitan with lots of big buildings

I know they are from Yunnan, but I'm just saying based on my experience stayed almost a month in Xinjiang. Especially in Kashgar or the Han's people called it Kashi, the leaves are always covered by the road dirt, and it just turned green and looked fresh when it's raining. And maybe in Beijing they rarely see the tree leaves always green due to the pollution or something like this or it's just big metropolitan unlike KL that have jungle in the city.

Was it easy for you to get visa to enter China? Stay was restricted to only tourist hotels, or you got away with some? Tour guided or solo? TQ
@Luiri61
@Luiri61 4 ай бұрын
@@aidanross9489 Starting from the end of 2023, Malaysian citizens don't need a visa to go to China, there is a 15-day visa-free entry policy. Also, foreigners are required to register for hotel accommodation in China, which is also a local Chinese policy. There are already a lot of very cheap hotels and B&Bs that have access to the Chinese government's online registration system. It means travelers can check in easily. Traveling with a group or individually is fine, provided that you are an adult and responsible for your own travel. Many people say that having to register for everything you do in China is very inconvenient and without privacy. But on the positive side, it's an act of public safety, and as long as you don't do anything bad, registering will only make you safer.

We typically use curtains, but those masjids are just too large, it's likely challenging to install curtains there. Btw, it's nice to see that you've become aware and acknowledged that there's more to life beyond what you've encountered. Experiencing something vastly different from your own culture demonstrates that being alone in your immediate surroundings doesn't necessarily mean you'll be alone elsewhere. 😊😊

Masjids do feel like home, though. Where ever they are in the world. Masjid Al Haram in Mecca felt more like my hearts home than my actual home. And I think lots of Muslims have that feeling.

16:34 Kuih Bakar Pandan or Kuih Bakar Kemboja is a type of traditional Malay cake. Kuih Bakar literally means baked cake. It is usually green in colour because it uses pandan leaves as a dye. It also smells like pandan. So we called it Kuih Bakar Pandan. It is also called Kuih Bakar Kemboja possibly because the traditional bronze mould used for the preparation of this kuih that resembles a flower plumeria or Kemboja flower in Malay language.
