It's sounds amazing! Love the sound of the GTX!!! I think your floating valve issue is becouse you haven't locked the intake cam in place when you deleted the Vanos. When you lift the valvecover, try to turn the intake cam forward and hold back the crank, pretty sure it will turn...

Hey bub, little boost hack from the dsm guys, you don't need vbands yet, Go buy a can of aqua net hairspray, and spray it on the inside of your couplers and then clamp it on, you won't have them come off until you want them off.

Hey Alberto! :) Good to hear the M52! It sounds great. I love to be able to watch another guy doing the same shit as me. :) And the small issues is really what to expect. What I love about Big Boost is, he's on the floor with us. And he has a brian! :) Not saying Adam and Taylor doesn't, but in another way. :) Happy sriving and wrenching. Your setup will be fine. :) I don't remember, if you changed your driveshaft, but if I had to predict something to brake, it would maybe be that. I know that a lot of guys here in Scandinavia is running the E46 M3 one. I haven't checked out the states, for what your setups are like, but we have pretty much tried everything here, and we trust our setups. Look at Scandinavian BMW's. Pure Performance, Reodor Racing, Limmet Racecars and so on. Specially Norway and Sweeden. Just for inputs, at least. :)

6:02 Did you notice that the nut on the band was backed way out? To me, it looks like someone forgot to tighten it down. Sounds silly, but it happens. Concerning v-bands, sure if you have the time and money but fwiw people use silicon boots in 100+psi applications in the diesel world with no problems.

Hey big boost, is there no break in period on a rebuild like this? I'm curious because I'm about a week away from finishing my first sr20 rebuild. Just did new bearings, rings and arp head/mains. Should I be breaking the engine in with just those components replaced?
@nosebergs-are-at-it-again7 жыл бұрын
I wouldn't follow any examples from this guy. He is haphazardly doing builds to produce video content as fast as possible. Take your time and use common sense
@lousaynas87977 жыл бұрын
Mastodon True that. I love his content but it seemed a little weird to me that he was dyno-ing it like a couple days after installing the engine. Definitely will be taking it slow, don't want to have to get inside the engine again any time soon. Thanks for the opinion man.
@nosebergs-are-at-it-again7 жыл бұрын
Anytime there are new bearing surfaces, rehone, etc. try to stay out of boost / under 3k rpm for the first 50 miles, change oil. Then start rolling gradually from 2k to 4.5k rpm here and there, like half throttle. Change oil again at 500 miles. Don't start bouncing it off the rev limiter or anything til at least 1k miles... etc. Who knows, maybe he spent a couple of days driving the car a few hundred miles and breaking in. I'm just in it for the accent and engine failures tbh.. nothing like hearing alberto try to say "WD-40" xD
@vegardulven95157 жыл бұрын
You know they dyno their engines in the factory too. Break in periods are kinda bs imo

What other way could you hold a laptop in front of you? You can't set it in your lap. At least not if there's a steering wheel.

Logically speaking: Having a belly big enough to be a laptop table might make it hard to race, giving you more time to learn to tune.

Look how low your oil psi is. 3 bar is only 45 psi and it drops. 10 psi per 1k rpm is safety net. Lifters are collapsing bc low psi1
@damebashmotorsports7 жыл бұрын
LOL except they're mechanical lifters and don't work off of oil pressure
@rexrunner7 жыл бұрын
I'm sorry but that's shitty. Even worse lol no give
@thatflywelshguy96627 жыл бұрын
You installed solid lifters? They're better for high rpm so you don't get valve float. If they're OEM then he's right, oil pressure pumps up the hydraulic lifter and insufficient pressure will let the collapse.
