This is reason eenough for politicians to avoid dirty muck spraying. From a practical stand point - inquiries often take years, cost millions, witnesses conveniently "forget or do not recall that .." (recall Vennells, Sturgeon etc) and there is no statutory power to bring criminal action as a result. Ultimately, many calls for inquires will not bring what the public hope it will bring and this leaves a taste of bitter disappointment.

Danger to people or Police is not a reason to deny bail. The purpose of bail is to protect Court process, not to protect the people. The only realistic reason for denying bail would be flight or witness intimidation. I say that both of those are quite likely and that is the basis on which bail should be rejected.

Each time I try a dentist I get told they are not taking NHS patients only private. I'm still having to wait 5 weeks to get a crown re done because the dentist takes NHS patients and is over loaded - going to cost me over £700 - how does that make sense when illegals are getting it for free.

When my wife came to the U.K. from Asia and was treated in the emergency department of a hospital, an American clams handler for her travel insurance company tried several times to pay and was unsuccessful. He kept asking me for the “Finance Department” of the hospital. 😅A man in America tried to pay the NHS several thousand pounds. The treatment received was very poor, but that’s not the point. Can the NHS please take money from the travel insurance companies of people who very sensibly come to the U.K. with such insurance? I had to send a letter to America advising this astonished American claims handler that emergency treatment in the U.K. is “free” meaning non-recoverable from the patient. It should have been recovered.

I'm a retired criminal barrister and for me the bigger question is why this seems a tad undercharged - why wasn't affray charged? Lots of members of the public were also caught up in this. Throw the kitchen sink then you have more room to plead it out.

You do not need a weapon to commit even the most grievous of injuries. The guidelines do state that ABH can include "Damaged teeth and bones". So, presumably a broken nose can, as a lesser type of bone break, be included in that.

That's not new, my wife had to wait in agony with a smashed elbow, while 2 Polish men who had been fighting in town were seen first, with just superficial injuries. This was under the Tories years ago, so much for triage at the Queens Medical Center.

Because you had big ad mid video I missed some of this. Here we go. Plead not guilty, get out on bail; seek adjournmemts for whatever reason and when there's no more road to travel and court looms where the burden of probability is against the defendent, a guilty plea is then entered with all sorts of remorse. Judge gives credit for a plea. Any time served on remand deducted.

I’ve noticed a pattern with Liebour’s responses of late; they are very short with no (further) explanation. IIMO Starmer had ordered them to do this so they cannot be engaged in discussion and caught out lying. They still lying -as per this example.
