I’m in my mid 30’s and want Cadillac to go back to making floating cars. Put a couch back in there, get rid of race seats. Honestly, I want a modern version of the 1991 Sedan DeVille I used to have. I like the concept. Cadillac is making a nice car. It is a decent looking vehicle and there is no argument that the performance is there. When we say it will "beat" the M3 in performance, I don't know if I will always believe that. They are comparably priced with comparable performance if you are comparing the RWD M3 (Non-Competition). If you're going with the M3 Competition xDrive, then the M3 gets considerably more expensive, but the performance enhancement of the AWD system puts the M3 into another league (0-60 in 3.0s and 1/4 mile in the mid 11's) above the Caddy. Depending on how much or how little you option out the M3 or Caddy, we can see overlapping price ranges; granted you can option out an M3 Comp xdrive up over $100k into CT5v territory. Aesthetics are subjective, but when it comes to styling and fit/finish, I think BMW takes the win. I can't get over Cadillac's styling. They've carried the same style for at least the last decade. Their cars always look boxy and chiseled whereas the BMW has more elegant lines while remaining aggressive.

@@lastnamefirstname520 I'm not saying it's not capable of doing so, but people have been wanting to compete this with the 3 series. Sure exterior dimensions are on the larger side. But the interior dimensions match up to the 2 series.
@99-Zulu3 жыл бұрын
@Neon Last I checked, most areas go by interior volume not exterior dimensions. The CT4 lines up well with the interior dimensions of the A3, A class/CLA, and the 2 series grand coupe. Just because those are front wheel drive based, doesn't mean that they do not compete with the CT4. It just means that Cadillac wanted better driving dynamics in this class. So they chose that over having the extra cargo capacity of the hatch or FWD platform. You are just trying to find fault in this comparison because it's something that you are not used to. The 1st and 2nd gen CTS was more of a competitor to the 3 series. The 3rd gen CTS was larger, because the ATS was a better competitor to the 3 series, C class, and A4. So the CTS competed against the 5 series, E class, and A6. So as a selling point to the Cadillac sedans. They market them as more car for the buck. Just like Genesis gives more standard features against their competitors. It's a selling point, it's something different. By your logic, some of the Audi's do not compete in their segments. Because they are FWD based. Also, do not put words into my mouth. I never said, thought or implied that the CT4 was a hatchback turned sedan. I do not know where this comment came from.

Even though GM/Cadillac makes these claims, what about LONGEVITY. Cadillac is not renowned for QUALITY, LONGEVITY, and DURABILITY.

I What to know what high performance Sedan has Longevity and Durability?. BMWs & Mercs have horrible reliability.. and are know to be money pits. Most people lease them for this reason It's all about perception I would say GM is on par. They get a bad flack for their standard vehicles because they are domestic. Go to Germany and you will hear the opposite. American cars are better to them. It's all perception

Being quicker at the track doesn't make it a better car......just saying.
