For those who haven't read the books, in them Charlie gives a long speech about how even if Harry is sorry (which judging by that stupid grin, he clearly isn't) it doesn't undo all the psychological damage he did and as such Charlie is under no obligation to forgive him. I actually prefer just not giving him the time of day, I'll wait for the next episode to go into more detail but there is another character who in my opinion needed to hear it much more
@Relicsplace Жыл бұрын
He was trying to be better to them all season tho so he is really sorry but i dont think he realize how big the damage he caused so maybe thats the reason for his grin but still he is getting better and better since the last fight so i'm curious for his conclusion (i read the whole webtoon except chapter 7)

Have you read the book Nick and Charlie? He means that sorry but it was half-assed since at that moment he just wanted in the party. He needs a lot of improvement and over the years (since nick and charlie is set in the future) he gains the trust from both nick and charlie and is friends with the both of them, and Harry actually loves their relationship. And yea a simple sorry doesn't excuse anything but what you can take from "Nick and Charlie" is that Harry didn't just apologize, he changed and improved to become better.

For clarification on Isaac (and for clarification on asexuality), he is aromantic and asexual. What this means is he does not experience romantic OR sexual attraction. Isaac’s discomfort with kissing is likely due to his aromanticism, not his asexuality, because many asexual people are in romantic relationships and do in fact kiss their partners, they just don’t experience sexual attraction. Not all asexuals are aromantic, but Isaac is, which is why he is uncomfortable with the idea of kissing and romantic relationships. Tori, on the other hand, is canonically asexual and alloromantic (alloromantic is the opposite of aromantic, it means you do experience romantic attraction).
@genadiaz1988 Жыл бұрын
My read on Tori's possible labels on both the asexual and aromantic are the opposite. I don't want to discuss too much unless you're currently reading the new pages of the webcomic. In fact, you might be ahead of me (and therefore know more specifics on her labels) if you're on their Patreon. I'm currently on the speedy attempt to make the concert on time... But I've read everything Alice has written (except the early Patreon pages) and I feel Tori is absolutely on the aromantic spectrum as well. I'm aroace myself, so maybe I'm reading into it what's not there, but I believe she's coded to be aroace.
@ariscent Жыл бұрын
@@genadiaz1988everyone has their headcanons, but i need to clarify that tori is ONLY asexual. every time alice has drawn tori, it has only been with the asexual flag, unlike her other aroace characters georgia and isaac, who she has drawn with BOTH aro and ace flags. and tori has only specified that she is asexual

Really like the comment, just wanna say that throught the series we cant say if Isaac not wanting to kiss is bc of his asexuality or aromanticity. They usually play along or can be like, different things you are confortable is are like that bc of one or the other separetely. Just refering that cause of the "asexual people can be in romantic relationships and do in fact kiss their partners", which is totally true, but not always the case, as an asexual demiromantic, if I was in a romantic relationship with someone I would never kiss that person and thats 100% on my asexuality! I dont wanna sound mean at all, what you commented is correct and helpfull, I just wanted to AD this point

Issac actually isn’t a character in the comics he’s only in the show, same with Imogen. In the comics instead of Issac there’s a character named Aled who is I believe demisexual. He isn’t featured a lot in the comics but I’d recommend reading Solitare and Radio Silence since they go more into depth about Tori and Aled’s character. Issac’s sexuality is explained a little more in the later episodes but I’m pretty sure he is asexual.

I love how consent has been such a key element of Nick and Charlie’s relationship from the start, from Charlie asking for permission before their very first kiss, to Charlie asking permission again (3x, until he confirmed that Nick really wanted to) before their first public kiss at the arcade, to both Nick and Charlie asking permission for their first neck kisses, and then their first conversation about sex in this episode. They’re always checking in with each other. ❤ They’re also both so good at picking up on nonverbal cues and making sure they have *enthusiastic* consent, like in this moment when Nick said “yeah,” but Charlie noticed that he “didn’t sound very sure.”

(from my own knowledge, please correct me if i’m wrong) Issac is aromatic and asexual. He wasn’t a part of the books, but is instead an adapted character of Aled Last whose character was in Alice’s book “Radio Silence,” and who also appeared a couple times in the Heartstopper series. Issac was also created with the intent of expressing the character “Georgia Warr” who was the mc in Alice’s “Loveless.” So essentially, Issac is a character created just for the show that is an adaptation of Aled and Georgia !

Charlie, Nick, Tao, and Elle do have a friend named Aled who is demisexual, and you can read more about him in Radio Silence! (Which I very much recommend, it’s a beautiful book.) Also, minor spoiler for Mr. Farouk: in the books he says “Well when you don’t come to terms with your sexuality until your mid-twenties…” and Mr. Ajayi replies “that recent? You’re only twenty-six, right?” So Mr. Farouk feels out of place not just bc he feels “too old” for teenage romantic experiences, but also bc he only accepted it very recently.

I'm SO glad this came out, and so many people got to watch Issac struggle this season, because Asexuality feels so underrepresented and unknown even in the queer community. Even Elijah saying like wait Issac, talk to him! But he can't, because he literally doesn't know what to say. He's never heard of it. And growing up ace is SO hard, because you think maybe you could be gay, and then you realize that doesn't fit either, and you're like on the other side of a glass pane, watching your friends have feelings that you can't quite emulate no matter how many books you read. And then you don't want to hurt others by making them feel like they're the problem, so you just...don't. Luckily Isaac found out this season. Spending years and years wondering when that magical thunderbolt will hit you and terrified it never will kinda sucks. Love Heartstopper for giving us this kind of struggle as well ❤

Consent is sexy! I also love how this show displays different kinds of consent besides sex, such as kissing. Like when Charlie asked Nick if he wanted to kiss him the first time. Then asking each other if it was okay kissing their necks. I also love how they’re taking things slow with their relationship. Not judging those that move fast, it’s just nice to see something wholesome and show different types of relationships. To those who go at their own pace, it’s nice to know they’re not alone and it’s okay.

What can get uncomfortable is when it's shoved into your face - that since everybody likes kissing and being intimate, you'd have too. And you berate yourself for not being like everyone else.

Aled has basically Isaac personality except that he talks even less than him but when he does it's always the right thing. Canonically Aled is demiace so I don't know if Isaac too will be demiace or ace, I thought he was ace too. The reason why probably Aled was replaced by Isaac it's beacuse Aled it's also the main character in another book wrote by the same author of Heartstopper so maybe they didn't want to put too many stories in the same place.
