Today I'm reassembling the entire truck (except for a few parts I'm still waiting on.) First I install everything into the engine bay that sits behind the engine. Then I finished the interior. Next, I called Mikey ‪@theshopspot9053‬ over to help me reinstall the 20R engine. Then, I reinstalled the rest of the accessories and parts into the engine bay, along with the doors, fenders, and front end. I had to adjust the torsion bars to raise the front end up 1". And finally, I had to slightly modify the upper control arms to clear the long sliders on the top of the 1-ton brake calipers.

That's starting to look really cool. If there is stuff that is rubbing or is in the way of other stuff now would be a good time to reroute it making it easier to get at it when you to fix or repair or replace something

Huge progress in this update. It takes forever to prep and paint all the little bits before reassembly. I was sorta keeping apace with my restoration, but you pulled way into the lead! Guess I better get back out into the garage... Hope to see a driving video soon.

@6thGearGarage 7 күн бұрын
@@84yota For the white engine bay I use ERA Paint 2k engine paint. It's expensive but well worth it. I used their 2k clear on top of it. I also used ERA Paints 2k engine on the blue block. Everything else in the engine bay like the accessories were all Duplicolor or VHT engine paint. The primer was all Duplicolor Self Etching, and aome Engine and Filler primers too. I was most impressed with the ERA Paint and will use it again on my next build, the 85 4runner.

Ive fixed the shifter seats when the small pegs, on each side, get broken or loose...Just took a hardened bolt just bigger then the peg and shaved the end like the pegs, left enough thread and tapped the holes bigger and screwed in the new bolt...Thats on the G and R151F trans...not sure what you have

How can the booster hold vacuum without a master installed?
@6thGearGarage
@6thGearGarage 8 күн бұрын
The master bolts to the booster, but they don't share any kind of vacuum. The vacuum is self contained in the booster. The booster has a rubber diaphragm inside that uses engine vacuum to make it easier to press the brakes.

@@jpicard81 I'd start with the relay. It's under the dash, a few inches left of the column. I don't know about 1990, but on the 80's trucks the turn signals work through the hazard switch. If the switch is unplugged, then there is no turn signal. Since your hazard doesn't flash, I wonder if that's the problem? Most likely relay though.
