Don't sleep on Regolo torpedoes... slow, yes. But 1.0km detection means base 6.6 sec reaction time.

PQ you can also put smoke gen mod 1 on the italian dds now too, which gives you 20% more smoke time.

I don't think giving up the accuracy mod on a DD is particularly significant, but I would be curious what other people think.

​@@matthewcasady6276 On the contrary, I think about 8 seconds extra smoke is very unlikely to have much of an impact, while 7% accuracy at all times while you´re shooting(and you want to be shooting as much as possible) sounds at least alright. 7% reduction in dispersion also results in an area reduction much larger than 7%.

I quite enjoyed the low range on the Italian dd line. Its a gun boat, but not a farming gun boat in my opinion, its an ambush DD. You get spotted, pop a speed boost and charge the enemy DD and smash it woth the amazing sap salvos until it smokes up, at which point you go dark because theres nothing else in your firing range. If your caught out and there is something spottingg you, you smoke and retreat.

Finally a hero who understands this line of ships. Rather than turn it into a crap version of a French DD turn it into a knife fighter and profit.

I apologize if I missed it in video, but it's important to note that 13.4km is with the 4-point Main Battery & AA Expert Commander skill, which gives a 20% boost in range. The base range is 9.6km. So, 9.6*1.2*1.16 = 13.3632 ~ 13.4km. Maybe that's an assumed skill at Tier X, especially with a gun boat DD, but less-experienced players may not know that. It makes a big difference. The Khaba, for example, gets an 11.2km range without any mod, so it does 13.4km with just the Commander skill. It doesn't have access to the Gun Firing Control Modification 2, but it can use Slot 6 for something else.

nailed it, asymmetrical battles IS an improved version of CoOp but it's fun. great way to play you're tier 9 and 10 without getting a lot of Random Battle losses.

Playing regolo tried to play it on random and ranked, it feels fantastic, even without using her torp focusing on her gun ambush build

I play that ship often, you don't want range with Regolo, it's supposed to be played as an ambush anti DD role with high alpha guns and slow but fast reloading long range torps for zone control.

But it has none of the tools needed to fight other DD's very well, at least not any better than any other gunboat.

@@thefish53_68 I mostly agree but the fuel smoke, speed boost, and the high alpha, short range guns make it dangerous to other DDs. It definitely could be buffed but buffing the range is antithetical to the line. The short range guns are an asset, not a burden, as you can open up close range and not be spotted from the moon.

Yeah range on regolo always seems redundant to me because if people start shooting back you smoke or engine boost and for 40s they can't deal with you.

@@wesgeorge4112this makes 0 sense. If a ship has the ballistics to support it then range is always an asset, spotting doesnt work like that.

@@jammo7370 Yes spotting does work like that. You are only spotted to your main gun range. So if you make it as small as possible then you go unspotted at 8km or less when you get out of range even if you are still shooting. It means that anything the enemy DD does to disengage works for you as well. If they don't shoot- free damage if they shoot and run- they stay spotted long after you disappear at edge of range if they smoke - you disappear with the first puff too and don't have to slow or anything, shoot them as they slow to hide torps - basically never hit a ship doing 50knots at 7km thats maneuvering Are French - you slightly out spot them and can engage at the edge of your gun range. 12 seconds to land 3-4 sap salvos for 15k and you disappear just as they get the guns on you and pop the reload booster. feast on their anger once you have slaughtered the DDs use your smokes and torps to decide other peoples fights by spotting until someone is fighting/spotting for you then doing a drive-by for 30k + torps. All the range mods just make it harder by keeping you spotted when you aren't as effective.

I've always liked regolo, even before the buffs. Its hard to farm in it but if you really want a win, like in Ranked it can be pretty good. I would still rather have a Kleber though

the asymmetric battles are fun. 1100-2000 BXP per game, did my daily missions in 6 games. you have to play smart though, the bots are much better than in normal coops. they will radar and hydro you if you smoke up. they will turn out and retreat if they need to. you can't all just go full yolo and win, you have to play smart. it is a more challenging than coops, and you don't have to worry about going on a 50-game losing streak while needing to get the daily missions done that require a win.

i wonder if a build using swift in silence would be nice - not traditionally a ship it'd be used for, but between the exhaust smoke and the speed boost i'd bet that it's be stupid fun going like 55 knots

i'm curious if the rest of the tiers are any better, or if it's one of those, "pretty meh until t10" lines. I also really like the new victory/defeat screens. Much less jarring when a game ends

I really didnt like the line until t9 (i started playing at the T7, got it during the event), which i found to be ok, and i really liked regolo and now with range mod you can play it like an alternate khaba lol

At least on EU asymmetric battles appear to be quite BB heavy, meaning you can farm a lot of damage and get easy credits without much effort.

Idk man, was always really good. I used to be top ten on the leaderboard with regolo, now I think I’m 11 or 12 because I haven’t played it in months, the ship was just a consistently good performer. I think you might play it a little too conservatively.

53 knots of speed with speed booster. In comparison its kinda like driving a car which max speed is 450-500 km/h. This thing is a Ferrari.

I still feel that if you're playing Regolo with a low conceal DD, range mod is bait. And if you're playing Regolo solo, you should just be playing literally anything else with comparable long range ability.

I honestly don't consider the addition of the range upgrade a buff, the line is all around getting in and dealing high amounts of burst damage, and not raining shells from 13km+ like soviet or french ones. This is a crutch at best

All to no avail, the intellectual level of the "new" players in the game is so low that more and more good players are leaving. And if they are left alone 45%wr pr 1000 animals or less, the game will die. And as we know, since 2015 actually the players are not increasing, they are only replaced by worse and worse... And since the game is BLR/RU I wish it the worst, because there is nothing to support murderers and infectiousness of humanity...

9:43 I really don't get your issues with submarines. I mean, I get them. They are toxic, however, they aren't that hard to kill, given one knows their location. As a DD I love hunting subs > XP forever. Though, some DDs certainly are better for DD hunting than others. With the speed of Regolo though, if only it would have more powerful depth charges.

stop saying bs the ping location is not accurate there is a huge error of ping location and subs are hard to kill they can one shot you but you can never oneshot them

Yep you have to guess their correct location like 3+ times and follow them without pause or a hint of inaccuracy as to where they are just to be able to get a chance at killing subs. You're delusional if you think hunting subs is anything remotely close to fun outside of anything with a speed boost and/or hydro, even then the fact they can STILL disappear from you is kind of astounding while going 30+ knots????

As a returning player (from before the time the subs were added) I honestly don't get the hate they get, sure the shotgunning ability on tier 10 is busted, but so far I haven't yet met a submarine player that had won a close range engagement against a DD. It seems to me like in order for them to achieve their OP infamy, they NEED an unicum player in the same way pre-rework CVs did. Average players sure as hell don't seem to me as a real threat when you're in a destroyer. Although I get the frustration of BBabies.

@@gewwvf I feel it really varies with player skill, bad players will just sail in and die. But give a Gato to a unicum player and disgusting things can happen. The first day I played Gato I shotgunned probably around 10 DDs, multiple Bourgones and Mecklenburgs and frankly any one who tried to drop ship based ASW died doing it.
