Courtney Watkins I’m in healthcare and have been for over 20 years. No matter what the circumstance, my patients get nothing less than great care and are treated with respect and no outward judgement. But when you know a person’s history - medical, mental, financial, etc. - and they have had health insurance, reliable transportation, and the means to afford a co-pay (because you learn about the stuff they have like the house they live in, the car they drive, the toys they buy) it’s really hard to sympathize with them for letting something go for years before getting it addressed. Sometimes people just choose to avoid getting a problem attended to, because it isn’t a priority. Again, this in no way affects my decision making or how they are treated. When they leave I’ll still be shaking my head, but that doesn’t make me a bad healthcare provider.
