I don't know why the subs are not higher.. they are hardworking, we get to see the journey of each renovation and get to see the end results... the go fund me is for the animals needs, no expensive holidays at the expense of viewers, continuity of timelines, ofcourse the animals themselves are worth a subscription alone... What you see is what you get and it's a lot with humour thrown in. Sometimes it takes a while but I think they will get their figures up sooner rather than later... Hats off to Lincoln and Amanda. 😊 Wyke cheeses are tasty..their red leicester is fab... we have it in the UK 😊

Oh my word. I don’t usually comment but I had to, today. First, I love y’all’s channel. Second, my sister, Melody and her family visited Italy & France in December 2018. One of my sister’s highlights from her Paris portion was visiting the local CarreFour. She loved to cook and they had many people in their party (She & her husband, five grown kiddos & 1 boyfriend) and one of the ways they would save money was to buy groceries and cook. Of course they did eat out some, but she often told me of her CarreFour adventures😂 She even purchased a CarreFour bag and carried that thing around all the time, back stateside, when she needed to transport things. Melody was one of my best friends and business partners. Sadly, both she and her husband passed away very suddenly 7 months apart in 2022 & 2023 and I (and her adult kiddos) have been navigating the tremendous grief of their deaths. Seeing this today reminded me of her and I am tearfully laughing at how much she loved that grocery. Thank you for sharing this part of your life. I have never been in one and it makes me feel just a tiny bit closer to her.

Hi... Love your channel and your sense of humour. I have a 1841 stone building in Canada. I saved all my flooring and installed it again in each of my 9 projects. It is a long journey to put them back, fill over 700 nail holes and then sand and sand and sand and Osmo. However, so much cheaper. My 2 inch thick old flooring looks amazing and well worth it. Those boards look perfectly fine, please reuse them! If you don’t believe me, sand part of a board down and you’ll see how beautiful they end up. If you need vintage nails I have an entire box full of them :)

Lincoln, really love how your parents raised you, especially when you mentioned (in a Q&A) that your dad would encourage you to think and figure things out as a youngster. A lost art in this day and age when kids are pampered and it’s easier to throw money at a problem. In Canada, people are struggling with inflation and some want their inheritance now or parents are buying each of their kids half million dollar homes because of the housing crisis. This is so wrong. It’s good to see work ethic and determination. Both of you are fine examples of mastery (not giving up or being afraid and learning new skills).

"Is it worth it?" Have you checked the price of wood flooring lately? Definitely worth it! And if you attempted to purchase planks in that length you'd either have to mill it yourself, then dry it for a couple of years, or pay through the nose to have someone custom make them for you. This is gold in wood form.

My heart skipped a beat when you showed the Cottage Cheese. I don't have any grocery stores near me that carry it, but whenever I'm in a different store in another town or city I check to see if it's there (if so, I buy a bunch!). It's funny because I wasn't necessarily the biggest fan of Cottage Cheese back in Canada, but not having easy access to it here made me want it more! Sometimes it just really hits the spot. 😋

It's a good excuse to buy some more shop tools.... 🤣 I'm thinking the Dewalt 735X planer with the helical cutter. 🤔 The hearth will probably stay suspended when you replace the beams. On another channel "Escape to Rural France," Dan Preston had to work pretty hard to get one of his old fireplaces to budge, being completely unsupported ... just don't stand underneath it when you remove the beams. 🤣

Lincoln must be on some sort super PED. Watching him take up that floor is making me sore and tired. Somewhere Waffle is realizing there are open ladders that he should be climbing. Though one suggestion would be to wear a mask. No telling what all is in the dust and dirt coming off of those boards. Amanda you're right to be concerned about Lincoln given his history. Do you have a wifi enabled camera that you can use to monitor him when you can't be there? It was great to see the grocery store and the nursery. What colors and no loud talking! It must be great! Thanks for a another enjoyable video.

Hi Amanda and Lincoln….new subscriber…. You are now very familiar to me… as I have been ‘binge watching ‘ your chateau videos from the beginning!👍👏….and just wanted to say in the comments for your latest video… how fascinating and enjoyable I find them … Your humour, Amanda….very dry sometimes…unexpected… often just ‘thrown in’ right in the middle of a serious explanation…. has me laughing out loud, often. Big plus !!as well as seeing the progress and setbacks…frustrations and long delays of restoration. Lincoln , you are almost ‘horizontally laid back’!!!… which is really great and often funny too… never fazed by any problem… mostly good humoured in your ‘man of few words’ style…Adore the stars of the Chateau life…ie… the animals.. ALL of them😀👏….can’t have favourites really… but Mimi… has a slight edge!!….an d the wonderful double ‘Act’ of Uvea and Dominick…cute and stubborn…as only donkey’s can be. So much more… the cat spaying/neutering project, the walled garden ( am a gardener myself, so understand that is is the happy place’!!), the never ending bathroom saga too… 🫠😵💫🥲🤣…Thankyou so much for documenting everything.. for family and Us subscribers👏…. Sorry about the long comment.. but have probably watched around 70 + of them… and lots to say… Sue (UK) 👋👋😃

Love the channel, narrative, animals, and your "Out and Abouts" As Registered Nurse who has seen lots of situations, I'm with you, "Safety First," about falling precautions. A fall can change your life in an instant, I know personally as I slipped when it was raining, and even wearing good shoes, etc, I had some b8g injuries. I'd also encourage eye and lung protection. Fall and eye injuries can happen quickly. Lung injuries happen, but the consequences or long term effects take longer to show up but are just as serious.

Your tulips are so beautiful. The music you choose is very nice, and today you had some that was even more beautiful (especially the piano piece early on). I've never been in one of the big Carrefours, just the little grocery stores when I lived in Toulouse and Fontainebleau. I like those little finials you put on the corners of your garden beds. That floor will be amazing when you get it reinstalled, such great planks, pretty much irreplaceable! We definitely live in a northern maritime climate, with the clouds coming in and out all day long, sunny for a bit, then rain, then sunny, then cloudy (mostly that). Enjoyable vlog as always.
