In 2015, I posted at least weekly (on the NYT and The Guardian) the symptoms of malignant narcissism and signs that someone belongs to a cult. It was evident then that he was a MN and that his followers' fanatical behavior had tipped over into a cult. Hundreds of mental health experts had weighed in about how dangerous both conditions are in the ways we've learned. Why can't people pay attention and troubleshoot anymore? It was a foregone conclusion that he would be a disaster. We barely survived the first round of his raging incompetence, venal greed, and rank criminality. She was 16 yo at the time, at school when she learned of his death, and they would not allow her to see her father before the coffin was closed at his funeral. Her parents were divorced at the time and the Trumps refused to give her mother any financial assistance or help with Mary and Fred III's education. Fred Trump Sr.'s original will left the bulk of his estate to his children. Since Fred, Jr. predeceased him, his attorneys recommended he amend his will to leave Mary and Fred III their father's inheritance, far more than the $200,000 each the other grandchildren were to receive. Fred, Sr. refused to do so. He began to develop signs of senile dementia in 1991, and in 1993 was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. When he died in 1999 Donald was in the midst of financial ruin and he sought control of his father's estate. This led to a family feud of epic proportions and Fred III and Mary contested their grandfather's will. Soon after Fred Sr.'s death, Fred III and his wife had a son born with a rare form of epilepsy which caused uncontrollable spasms; he required a lifetime of medical care. Fred Sr. had established a foundation to pay the entire family's medical insurance. Because Fred III and Mary filed suit against Donald and his sister Maryanne Trump Barry and brother Robert Trump, Donald cut off the medical insurance for Mary and Fred III, including his son William. The suit was settled in 2001, and Mary and Fred III sold what they thought was their portion of the business. In 2018 Mary found some financial documents and provided financial records--including some Trump family tax returns-- to The New York Times for their expose on Fred and Donald's finances. My wife's first husband worked for trump as his driver. They had two small children at home at the time. The hours were long and my wife asked him to get a job with better hours. He did: working for Sears. Gave his one month notice and at the end Trump stiffed him on his last months pay. Trump said "don't like it? sue me."
