|ABOUT|
I live and knit in Southern Ontario with my husband and my terrier. The name kuriaknits comes from my last name - Kurian. Kurian has Indian and Syrian origins and I feel lucky every day that my husband shared it with me.

Hi, friend! ❤ - First of all, I love a good pandemic bra burning -- I'm with you! - I need to finally knit a Musselburgh hat or just hats in general - I want to make a scrappy blanket too. My current idea is to hold a cream-colored fingering weight throughout and hold scraps of fingering weight yarns together with it. I guess I'm making stripes? Not sure - Your Seasons Cardigan is stunning! I wish I could knit one myself but I hated those DPNs for the button band - So happy you managed to send me the ACTUAL Cascade 220, I'm loving it! - I'm also loving the Field Day Jacket pattern, such a quick knit. Knitting on it as I watch you actually. MUHAHAH you'll never catch up to me 😈 (Errr of course you will, what am I saying lol) - The lilac/violet Arwetta is lovely! 🌸 I'm so curious to see how the final Pipin Cardi will turn out. It's definitely turning out an interesting shade, with the mohair mixed in. I mean... At some point I need to knit something with my lilac yarn. Who knows. Don't want to think about it, let's pretend it doesn't exist - YES to your Sandnes Garn Line. PERFECTION. The color suits you so well (and I guess it's true for any green yarn I've seen on you so far)

You made me LOL with the comments about where you want to go in the States. I’ve never been to a Dunkin’. Never, lived here all my life and I’m a lot older than you. But when I get to Canada, I can’t wait to get to a Timmy’s!

I'm alsto from Ontario in Ottawa. Stephen West Bricks blanket uses dk or you can use worsted. It's a stash blanket, I'm knitting it but haven't knitted it in months. I'm also a loose knitter too

I’m not a big crocheter either but last summer I crocheted a blanket with a big hook ( 9 mm?) so it went fast. What I did was separate my scrap yarns into darks and lights. I held one dark with one light and did the whole thing in half double crochet. When switching colors I only switched a dark with a dark or light with light and staggered them so I wasn’t switching lights and darks at same time. It was super easy. If you want to see it my ravelry is cassie-d17 and project is called scrappy blanket.

Late to the party. I live near Lake Erie in Michigan, USA. I have a lawn and I hate it! Hate! I've been here 3 years and this year? Container gardens all over with little lawn between. Grass along a lake? Harrumph. 😊

I'm only halfway thru the episode....but, had to go right over and purchase the Kaarina, nicely surprised there is a discount at the moment. A few of us are knitting the Excavation, which is a scrappy fingering-weight throw...but I'm sure you can knit it in DK. Also, how wonderful to have a clean slate in your backyard (albeit a lot of work ahead!)...I applaud your decision to plant Clover ❤. When we go to the States, I look forward to the Aldi's grocery store, and lunching at Olive Garden 😋

I’ve never been to Olive Garden! I’ve heard so much about it. I’ll look into the excavation - thanks so much for the recommendation 💕

I love your Kaarina Tee! I too am in SW Ontario and when I saw your project I thought perfect for the summer and also the other seasons with a collared shirt or long sleeve t-shirt underneath and use as a slipover. Thanks for all the inspiration!

I’m so intrigued about your upcoming design; you definitely have a strong sense of direction with your knitwear style, so I’m pondering what it will be based on that! Hope you have a lovely Easter Erin - you even have the yard space for an Easter egg hunt now!

Your backyard looks like a long term project that will be lovely in time. I wish I could give you periwinkle, a great ground cover we have transplanted all over our property. All your projects are beautiful as usual and I think the Oolong tank is for me

Hi! I just found your podcast today. I'm always happy to find Ontarians knitting on KZbin! I also burned my underwires through pandemic and have switched to almost exclusively Ripple Bralettes by Jessie Mae. Looking forward to continue watching :)

I think it's so interesting how different people's tastes can be. I love holding mohair double with colors that are slightly different. You get a marled look up close, but most people just see a solid color that has depth. I don't know how that will translate with the boucle style mohair you're using, but I definitely don't think your cardigan will be "ugly pretty." I think it will be stunning!
@kuriaknits
@kuriaknits Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I usually love that style too but I think the boucle is doing it’s own thing haha.

I definitely don't think gravitating towards seasonal colors is following a trend or a character flaw! I think it's something that humans naturally tend to do. I've been leaning into it a lot more over the last year to try to appreciate and acknowledge the passage of time and the growth and change that we all must go through as the seasons turn.

Enjoying your knits and plans but I find I can’t keep up. You’re a fast talker for these old ears. I had to scroll back numerous times to try to catch the names of your projects. I even messed around until I finally found the transcript but the blanket you talked about making was written “b comb” or some such. Not sure how I finally came across the beekeeper’s quilt. Would it be too much trouble to put text on the screen like you occasionally add photos? Would certainly help this fan as the names of both knits and designers are often puzzles.
