I moved to Sweden from the US 6.5 years ago. I really relate to some of the things you said here, but also some of them have changed over the years for me. I remember being overwhelmed about figuring out how to do everything here or where to buy things I needed. But that has slowly changed as I became more familiar and spoke the language better. I hope things become easier for you. I also brought my cats from the US to Sweden and still have them. I’m glad to hear you wouldn’t abandon yours if you move ❤

relate to everything you said. i studied in korea and visited japan the number 1 difference me and my friends noticed: koreans stare at you but you know its not a good stare. japanese people stare and its with a smile. this was 2018 and there were WAYYYYY more foreigners in japan... i thiink i mostly saw foreigners where we went (shibuya, harajuku...idek) but ya korea i loved but theres much more...racism? that we expereinced there to the point it almost made me despise it....but i realize they are homogenous and not as used to foreigners which is no excuse to treat ppl how they did to us but it helps me understand a bit. its still a huge part of my life and love it to death but people romanticize it way. too. much. the respect thing is 90% for their own people. theyll help you alot but if youve lived there a bit, you know what i'm saying. bottom line: you will never be one of them and they make it known.

So, in Canada, we take off our shoes in houses as well for the most part. Like most houses. It's not as strict as in Japan, but unless people tell you to keep your shoes on, you usually take them off. And we drive places everywhere. Would you ever consider moving to Canada? It's less crowded than the USA or Japan, but if you want crowds, the big cities have a lot of people. You mentioned you were going to Canada soon. Where are you going?

Great video, started watching cuz of Japan. My extent is zero -1 but after watching shows:movies like Karate Kid/Cobra Kai got hooked on Japanese decor but have zero knowledge. WOULD be awesome to find great Japanese decor, products, etc and show them and explain them like stuff we can get here in USA , like we can buy at Target, Walmart , Amazon. Just an idea . I totally love to do Japanese decor : Decoration but no idea where to start and not very good KZbin videos unless I’m totally putting the wrong phrases in the search box thingy. And in Amazon I just put Japanese decor and either flags or really expensive beds come up.

Japan is one of the most gay-friendly countries in the world. you will see lots of gay celebrities on TV. Yukio Mishima, the writer most respected by Japanese was famous for being gay. Shinjuku 2-chome is very famous, Freddie Mercury went there many times in private.
