This movie was so crazy to me. And the premise was definitely about exposing people's true natures. There are tons of people that tell us their morality is strictly based off the law, so when nothing is illegal you see what people are really like. And they will twist their logic to justify it, no matter what beliefs they claim to have. If you don't watch the entire series, you should at least watch The First Purge too. It's scary how close we might be to some BS like this

This one showed the wealthy but later ones show more of the average and working poor. It’s definitely a commentary on class and income inequality. And yes, that includes racism. I love how you kept pointing out it was Cersei. I saw this before GoT and when I saw her in GoT I was excited to see the Purge mom, lol.

The purge series is kind of amazing , BUT in very un-obvious ways. People who get all pumped up on the “OBVIOUS MESSAGES” rewatch and look a little deeper! Then there is a 2 season FX series that gives ANOTHER PERSPECTIVE. Enjoy your rewatches.

The families live in the community that supported the purge, they even opened the movie up showing them putting the flowers on the lawn. Did you skip that whole part of the movie or did you just want to make this a race convo? The Dad even stated that he may or would have taken place in purge while they were having a meeting with the son. So yes as I said they are apart of and represent a society that let's this happen. Why do you think there was such a dilemma with the son opening the door. Because that was going against the grain! There is your explanation. -Adison
