While I definitely didn't like Disney dumping the expanded universe I definitely understood the decision. The expanded universe so thoroughly explored the post Return of the Jedi period, lasting decades of in universe time, that Disney would've been very hamstrung in what they could've done. However I definitely think they went about continuing the Star Wars story in the absolute worst way. They should've used the now non-canon EU as a rough blueprint in how to continue the story. Jorj Car'Das, is a character that is pretty small in Legends but he had an impact for me. He spent over a decade with the AiTing monks was able to cultivate some connection to the force. He was able to teleport a cup or plate a short distance. It has been a while since I've read those books. So it is quite rare, but someone through training and dedication might be able to strengthen their connection to the force. Which is something we see with the Jedi and Sith. Yes, they take those naturally strong with the force, but through training, discipline and teaching they strengthen that connection. An individual's connection to the force can grow, stagnate or atrophy depending on how their circumstances. This is pretty in keeping with some of the ideas and origins of the force being related to Eastern concepts like Chi/Ki. Where one needs to cultivate a stronger Chi/Ki through hard work and dedication. Personally I like the idea that someone under the right circumstances could "Become force sensitive." You don't need to be born special and/or have "The blood of kings" to be a force user. Hard work and training can get you there too and that's a cool idea to me.

@magmapixel8627 in legends, the AT-AT was first depolyed at the Battle of Hoth and hence why the rebels were so shocked by them. General Veers designed them and convinced Vader to use them there. @@meatbyproducts Legends was hardly consistent with this either. That and the idea that Hoth was their first usage is from the script and the audio drama, neither of which are canon nor made it into the movie. @meatbyproductsАй бұрын
@redleaderantilles1263 it was in many stories and in source books for the RPG. Legends was far more consistent than most other sci-fi settings and WAY more consistent than Disney Wars. It was also in the Decipher card game. The Jabiim comics are post the prequels and from 99 on Lucas destroyed the legends and the continuity. Like Boba Fett was cool and had great back stories until Lucas scrapped all the canon that had been Lucas Arts approved. You have pre 87, basically a couple Han Solo books, Ewok movies, the OG Trilogy, and a few other things. You have the golden era 87-99 The RPG and the vast majority of the books. Then you have 99-2012 the jumbled mess Lucas made with the prequels and ditching everything that had been approved. Lastly you have 2012 to now and that is Disney Wars. 77-99 are the best years for movies, stories, canon, and continuity. From 99 on, there was not a care in the world about continuity.

For characters, this could be hard for me, because I can easily just "The EU characters are better that the CST characters...", and I don't want to do that, but there were several side characters I'd love to see make an appearance. When I was watching Rebels, and they had to go Dave an Admiral's son, they showed a YT-2400 ship, and there were actually several minutes of excitement, where I thought "They did me a solid, and reintroduced Thrawn, so there's no reason that CAN'T be Dash Rendar? That's the right class ship for the Outrider, so why not!?😁" It obviously wasn't, and we didn't get discount Solo, and I lived, because this would have been a few years before he was THAT Dash Rendar, but I hoped? I was always a fan of many of the side characters, like Xizor, Zakarisz Ghent, and the like, and they didn't need inclusions on the sane scale as Thrawn, but could be wonderful little nostalgia drips for aging fans, like me. For tech, I'm going to go with Human Replica Droids. I like Star Wars for the Force, the tech, and the aliens, and some droids make great characters. A droid that can actually put on the appearance of an organic, and be convincing, is cool, and I'm sure Guri was no small part in selling it for me. Wookiees are renowned for their might, so to have Guri dupe Chewbacca enough to let her get close, and then use her super-strength to snap his arm like a twig, was wonderful, even if a lot of fans might not have appreciated Chewie getting done dirty, Iike that. She even went on to have a compelling story afterward, but didn't have to be the only HRD, as a few other "discount" models were later made. For lore, I don't really know. I want to say an improved Jedi Order, where Luke saw the good, but also acknowledged the faults, in the old Order, and tried to change them. When he acknowledged that Jedi needed to be alive, and do some things the old code forbade, or let them make their own mistakes, but still have room for salvation, instead of just saying "You CAN'T!", or "Once you start down the dark path...", or even just try to hide itcall from them, and keep them ignorant, like thecEmperir, in 40k. It's not a great answer, but I can't think of a better idea right now, so I'll go with it.

I would love to see a female ace TIE pilot who *doesn't* turn rebel for once. For tech, I'd want to see the Eclipse! I wish they had kept Ryloth as a tidally-locked red dwarf planet like it was in Legends as well, especially since those types of planets are a real thing, with the Kepler space telescope finding dozens, if not hundreds of real life examples just waiting to be investigated! It was a sci-fi concept ahead of its time, and it's frankly horribly anti-intellectual that Disney would abandon that idea.

You could have Han's stories told, Lando's stories, I bet Dash Rendar spent time there, Boba Fett etc. It would almost be a Star Wars 1313 concept. you of course could interweave the Hutts, Black Sun, and other lesser known concepts from the legends. the Z-95 Headhunter for example would be a great fighter to feature tho, it's concept in the books was not the same as what it would become.

They’re missing a pretty easy layup by not making a shadows of the empire movie and remaking the game.

#AskEck Two Star Wars/40k questions: What 40k faction would have the most impact if dropped into the Star Wars universe circa Episode 4, and which one would have the least? Are there any Imperial Primarchs that you think could beat Palpatine (or some other big-name Force user)?

Look, I love the big ships too, but my heart belongs to the lesser, almost never spoken of, gunship class like the slave 1 and the razorcrest. They are just such badass ships, and they can be piloted by a single person and presumably, have enough room to live in like the space hobo that most bounty hunters are. I really think mandos new naboo fighter is cool, but you could fit like three of those in the back of a razorcrest, and successfully deploy then if stacked on one another with their weird repulse lift tech. 1 tiny ship is suddenly a fleet of fast, hyperspace capable brawlers. Its a real shame that we dont get more small operations in live action such as those seen in rebels with the crew of the ghost.

I've actually been thinking about a sort of "inverse-interdiction" for my own setting. Basically, it would keep entities from teleporting into an area of "scrambling phase", affording a state of safety and security in a world where opposing forces could simply teleport into an area like the demons from Doom. Specifically, the technology would be largely deployed to prevent raids by a major slaving power in the multiverse, though its origins would be traced back to the wars of the Elder Races back in antiquity. As for characters who I'd want to see come back in the Stars War? Kyle "Mothafuckin'" Katarn, the Doomguy of Star Wars. Hell, it's canon that he fought in the Yuuzhan Vong war and the Dark Nest Crisis, so if Didney wanted to let people work with the Legends timeline again, it'd make sense to bring Kyle back to fight the Vong and Killik in a duology of Nu-Doomy "Dark Forces" shooters.

Don't think I've heard rhe word "interdiction" since I was playing Elite Dangerous. Interdiction was a struggle between the ship attempting to interdict, and the ship attempting to steady it's course and not get pulled out of supercruise.

I'd start with Aetheric control surfaces, & not being able to hyper jump in a gravity well (incl. planetary proximity),
@diamondq7s124Ай бұрын
I know the Interdiction in Rebels was to easy to destroy sadly but in how it is used sounds like a dangerous ship to go through.

I miss seeing the NR and imperial remnant evolving and eventually making room for each other. Sorta. The legends noghri just being themselves. And honestly, the sun crusher. It was so stupid OP that it became the avatar of actual plot armor. I understand why people dont like it because its so absurd, but that was also what made it goofy fun. Oh yeah, i also always wanted to see a live action MT-AT.

If Andor gets enough seasons, I kinda want to see Syril Karn evolve through circumstances into Talon Karrde. I can still hear Denis Lawson pronouncing it as ‘Talon Card’ on my old audiobooks on cassette tape. Who also by the way voiced the best Grand Admiral Thrawn 😁

I personally would like to see is, maybe, some of the EU that was post Imperial into the current post Imperial in the current canon. One thing I would like to see is some stuff between say Luke and Ahsoka, as well as finding ither Force sensitivrs to train. as well as the X-wing series, etc. Make them into series. Could bring more EU into canon.
