Always fun hearing about Pasadena city College, PCC. Kind of funny how everyone dropped out during their first year-probably before the first semester ended, like I did. I made it until about December. We all wanted to just focus on our bands, get out there and play. But it sounds like everyone learned a lot in the short time there, I sure did. He mentioned his theory class. Then, as music majors, we’d have to take a keyboard class, study classical guitar, even join the choir, ha ha. I’ll mention one professor here, in case anyone sees this that also went to PCC. The theory teacher I remember, and you can’t forget his name was, Dr. Hoar! I think that’s how he spelled it. But it sounded just like it looks, ha ha. 🤘🏻🎸😝🇺🇸

Ok, out off the gate, I love David's Baha shirt! I used to own several. Now I need to go get a new one! lol. This was such a GREAT conversation!! David obviously has a brilliant memory and his details of what was happening back then paints a great picture for us. He is totally the epitome of what California represents. I'm so glad you made the comment about how the Cali Culture would get to mid America a few years later, Jeff. That's what I remember too back in the 70s and 80s. The muisc, fashion, any art. Thank you both for sharing this very comfortable exchange with us. Rock On!

I haven’t heard anyone mention the planetarium in decades. I almost forgot about that. I went there once, at least. It must’ve been 40 years ago. So, I was pretty young. I think it was a Led Zeppelin show that time. Totally dark, lasers on the dome ceiling, the chair leans back. Then the lasers jump around, outlining all the celestial bodies. This would go on for an hour or so.

Great interview, just getting started. Glad it’s a long one. I like to listen little by a little throughout the week while driving.😝🤘🏻 I had to pause it real quick to comment. He just mentioned Dr. Demento. I totally remember him too, when I was pretty young. Funny story, but Dr. Demento would be the special guest and MC for our local 5K run in Sunland-Tujunga-where I grew up. One year in particular, I remember (I might’ve been around 11 or 12, 1982 maybe) my dad and I ran the 5K together. My dad ended up coming in first in his age group, like he would a lot of times. Even though he was getting close to 50, he could still do that 3.1 miles in about 18 or 19 minutes. So, when the race was over and they were handing out awards, Dr. Demento handed my dad a big frozen turkey for the win. 😝 That was the trophy for first place. 🤘🏻😝🇺🇸 Now that I think back, it must’ve been part of Thanksgiving weekend. Anyway, so that’s what I remember most about Dr. Demento… and, of course, hearing him on the radio. The award ceremony was right in the big local park, up on a raised concrete stage. And I watched him hand that turkey to my dad, ha ha. 🇺🇸☺️

I don’t know, I saw Ted a while back. It may have been close to 10 years now, ha ha. But I bet he is still great, what a blast. Probably the tightest band I’ve ever heard. 🤘🏻😝🎸🇺🇸
