"He's just spamming hadoken!" - at 2:18 he lost 40% of his health to 1 mistimed hadoken, at 2:44 it got him killed. At 3:00 and 5:55 it happened again. At 7:11 it got focused through. Fireballs have a LOT of counters and at a professional level you pay dearly for every mistake. Daigo has just trained his timing and zoning to perfection...also hado and shoryu are Ryu's main tools because he has very few mix-ups and no vortex to speak of. Daigo is a prime example of how the player should never be intimidated by tiers. Player skill > tiers. Not taking anything away from infiltration as he is AMAZING, but daigo is just too good.

Wow.. Infiltration doesn't play like this anymore. There are no setups here. Here he ends his combos with an uppercut, pushing his opponent far away. Nowadays he ends his combos with a sweep, dropping his opponent right in front. Leaving enough time to play mind games which is what Akuma does very well. Hard to watch this. Wasn't played to Akuma's strength.

The combo I think you're referring to (or ending of a combo rather) is light hurricane kick into a crouching fierce kick sweep. You're right that this is the preferable way for Akuma to end combos because it creates better setups but there's just one problem. This combo ender doesn't work on Ryu. There's actually quite a few characters in the game that it doesn't work on. There's no way a player of Infiltrations skill wouldn't know the matchup so he knows that he might as well get as much damage as he can out of the combo with uppercut.

For those who are beginners in or have never played street fighter, here is the definition for spamming: In gaming, refers to a player who throws grenades indiscriminately, many at a time. Generally an issue in Team Fortress. Although lately has been expanded to include any overused gun/combo/move/tactic/etc." Look at the word indiscriminately. In sf4, each fireball thrown at close ranges is risky and without much rewards. You can easily get punished with full combos in high level play if you really spam fireballs like you guys say.

I don't play either, but the thing about the Hadouken is that it does a bunch of damage on block (relatively) so he can't just stall. It forms perfect spacing, and it's honestly really hard to set it up at the right distance. Sure it's not super hype, but when you get the forced pressure from it, you get 2 seconds of total worth hype. It's whatever works here, and using the neutral stance with the spacing is what lets him control the match. Lots of it ends up being mind games. So in short, not much hype, but pretty amazing what they can do.

No you guys are way off. "quarter circle forward short" just means he thinks Daigo is faking a fireball. Every ryu does this. Thats why you see the standing short come out all the time, to fake and hide his fireball timing. The commentator is wondering if daigo is doing the quarter circle forward motion in case Infiltration is listening to his inputs.

It is the most footsie based game in the world, the whole game has the complexity of chess match while at the same time having some of the most difficult executions of any fighting game in existence. MK X looks more action packed because it is easier to start combos and has alot more fully animated attacks such as x-rays. The difference between street fighter and Mk is that the mechanics of street fighter are better ask anybody that has played lots of fighting games.
