I worked a high end auction the other day. Out of 68 cars that we rolled through the block. Only 1 sold. An Aston Martin. There was no shortage of buyers, just that the buyers would not paythe minimum that the sellers wanted.

So they are looking for new owners to buy them, not a dealer that would need to mark it up. No big deal, consumers probably wouldn't buy it if on a retail lot. 😂

I got even with these jerks and kept it forever, it has 208,xxx miles now. 😂 Turns out the old Gen 2 ,12 Valve engine, engine is probably the best truck engine ever made. 🥰 I'm 60 now, drive it less than 1,000 miles a year, man it's going to outlive me! 🧐

If you think that's bad. 37k for a 12-year-old truck isn't terrible; it's more of a steal. I've seen one at a used dealer's lot, a 1998, 12-valve Dodge 2500 Cummins, and they wanted 43k for a 26-year-old truck. And it's not a stick either. That same truck in 1998 with the Cummins and 47RE starts at $28,000.

If people are paying $16,800 for an auction 2013 Chevy Avalanche w/88K miles... the market has definitively not bottomed out yet. I was expecting that truck to sell for about $10K or less at auction... and maybe w/a $15K-$16K sticker on a dealer lot. They would need to sell that truck for $19K+ to even sniff any money off it.

The interior is shit. That's a 5k truck all day lol what is wrong with people. My truck on nada says 19k and it's in excellent shape and imo should go for 25k. 2018 f150 3.5 eco lariat crew, max tow 160k. New Toyota open country tires, leveled. Makes no sense at all. Mine was paid in full at purchase no way I would get into another vehicle at these prices. They won't give me shit but will sell it for high price.

@jabronisrus Because look what drivetrain you have. Starting the 4k notorious cam phaser fix. The leaking turbos and no one can repair those trucks except Ford in many of cases. No one wants those outside of warranty. These Avalanches are easy to maintain and parts are reasonably available and priced. You can take it to any mechanic vs that ecoboost where no mechanics will touch outside basic things. It's like the Maserati effect the vehicles are cheap but maintaining is so high.

Let's see when the bankruptcy avalanche starts. The banks won't like it either, since they'll be squeezed on the other side by the RE avalanche. Lets see how fast they can dump inventory?

I have a 2017 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro with 31246 Miles What would be a good asking price to sell or trade off? Its Metal Gray Leather Seats Moonroof with Big Tires.

As a Yankee in upstate NY, i definitely would have bought that Tacoma lol. Especially at that price it went for. Like you said, us up north people that ain't a lot of rust for us 😂

I like the 400,000 mile car. "It's not worth much" Exactly. Make it roadworthy. Low insurance, no debt, license/registration will be cheap. And won't be a target for theft. - new suspension - engine overhaul - new tires All that is cheap if you do the work yourself. Cheap, old, but good. Perfect. Will not be buying an $85,000 truck, at any time, for any reason.

These prices are insane i remember in the 90s anything over 75,000 miles was considered a junk car and your insane if you paid more than $100

Man Toyotas current issues with their engines has really affected them worse than I thought! it wasnt to long ago a Toyota that looked that good would bring 20k even with the rust and people would be throwing money at you at that price.

For dealers to pay $15k for a 100k+ mile vehicles what's there break even on it, reconditioning, maybe small.mechanical repairs etc I'm one of those old guys that would pay 5 figures for anything like that, I'd rather find some way older, non computered vehicle and put $ to fix it up..the way auto makers build cars they have a shelf life of a bid lighter..imo Your videos are great...thanks

New car prices are so high, people aren't buying them. When they don't buy them, they don't trade in their used car. Dealers are fighting for used cars because of this and because they are lower priced than new, they actually sell. The used car maket isn't going to crash anytime soon. Simple supply and demand. New car prices will fall first. Example Stellantis, but it will take time for all those new cars to make their way into the used market.

At this point, I have to believe these auctions are just dealers playing with old money. No one is actually buying this junk, are they?

When used trucks start costing less than what they sold for new, then i`ll start looking at them! They have 2019 F250`s selling with 100K for 62K when they sold new for 48K! People need to stop paying these prices!

I have a 2020 Hyundai ELANTRA with 37K miles on it and showroom condition. The dealer is only offering me 9000 as a trade-in. I should bring it to this auction, I could probably get 20 K for it.
