Financial Worries AGAIN...This has GOT to be a 1K Month!! September Business & Money Reset

This video couldn't have been better timing for me! I'm in a very similar situation with my reselling/art business. Our house got flooded back in May, I lost most of my savings and I've been struggling to get my business back to even half of what it was before. I was working late last night and up early today to put as much time into it as I could. Hearing you talk about similar struggles made me feel heard, and know you're not alone! I also hope your Mum feels better soon

Oh my goodness! What a year you’ve had 😱 Flood damage is awful and gets into everything 😬 I really hope you are able to turn things around step by step. I’m rebuilding one of my savings pots £25 a month as that’s all I can afford to spare (and not even that last month!). I think if you’ve done it once (built up your art&reselling businesses) then you can do it again. One day at a time though - that’s my motto for this month!

Yes, progress videos would be great, as it helps to motivate me too! I've hardly done anything on my online businesses in the last couple of months due to recommencing my daughter's homeschooling. I really need to find the time before Q4 to get a few things organised too! 💰

Hi Mel, have you thought about picking up some second hand books in September ? The reason I write this is because I check out the reading lists of different UK unis, pick up the books and give them to my brother who sells books and vinyl on eBay full time. I’ve been helping him out doing it and it has shown a few results so far in September. Have you thought about doing some private tuition in your area ? That’s what I do. I get 20 an hour teaching English to 3 French school children. Another thing you could do is cash in any cash back you might have as well. I’m money scheming ( lol ) for this month. I need 585 extra, got a huge bill coming up and I also overspent in August😱. 💐🌻

I have thought about getting into selling books because I love them but I don’t have room to store many of them. I will definitely revisit the idea though so thank you for the suggestion. Keep me posted with how you get on making the extra £585 I will keep everything crossed that you manage it 🤞🏻

This is how I have been feeling all of this year. We have just the decision to sell the house, with rising rates and our mortgage being up in March, it made so much sense and would relieve so much pressure. I have had to offload all of the previous reselling stuff that I would "get around to", to declutter the house. Have been able to sell a couple of bits but most of it has had to go. I am sorry about your Mum, thoughts and wishes go out to you both.

It’s a feeling of “tightness”, I’d like more wiggle room every month and £12K a year used to be enough but with the cost of living increasing I think I need at least an extra 5K a year. We spread our mortgage over a longer term to reduce the payments by £400! We overpay most months but lowering the amount that’s GOT to be paid has definitely given us more peace of mind. I think your house move is a positive move. It will give you some breathing space. My OH and I considered moving to a cheaper area and looked at it as a potential adventure!
