Really loved this play through. I’ve encountered a few mega-donkeys in my day. Seriously, this looks like an awesome game. The rules are so simple. The designer should really be proud of himself.

Hello Jon At 27:40. You showed moving one of your farmers 4 to pick up a single olive (that would complete resrouces needed for the 2 almond / 3 olive tile). But you also would have gotten a donkey...i think the windmill tiles shifted a touch and obscured the donkey line. Sine you didnt mention the donkey I assume you didnt notice it. Anyway, that would have allowed you to complete the 5 tile and get a Finca tile on your next turn. I already noticed the visibility of the donkey line is pretty hard to see. Seems its easy to miss it when scouting our your possible moves.

Unfortunately I can't find this mistake at the timestamp you indicated. I went forward until we moved 4 spaces to get 1 olive (around the 29m mark) but we did take a donkey cart then.

@@JonGetsGames I see. at 27:14 you can move one of the two yellows 4 to the single olive. But that would also get you a cart which would give you the 3 olives / 2 almonds you need to complete the 5 point tile. It would have just allowed you to complete the same tile one move sooner. Probably made little difference in the end.

I saw the same move. It’s at around the 27:15 mark. I haven’t watched the next moves yet, but I did notice that Blue already has a donkey cart and three olives and two walnuts, so they are primed to get it a turn earlier than you if you went this route. If they noticed that, not only would they score 5 points but also prevent you from doing the same. Which means, Blue would probably do that. Either way, a small mistake if it’s even one at all. More importantly, great job as always, Jon!

Wow, that supply running out rule is brutal in a fun way. Makes for very interesting choices, do I do my own thing or ruin everyone else's plans

Yeah it is! Technically the rule to play with less fruit in the supply didn't officially hit until the 2018 version of the game. The designer later said this was always a rule, they just forgot to put it in the original version. Playing without it at lower player counts removed a bunch of tension though, so I always use it (I wrote the restriction into my rulebook with a pen).

Hi Jon really enjoyed this, this looks like a really fun game. I like the windmill and how it works, I do have a question, and that is during the set up, how do you decide which blades to put your farmers on?

You take turns placing your farmers one at a time.

One at a time you place a farmer and take 1 fruit of the indicated type, no matter how many farmers are there. Keep doing this until all farmers are placed, so you start the game with fruit equal to the number of farmers you have.

If you had revealed the tile at 44:48 at the correct time, blue would have had a great turn for points. In addition to taking the 6-point question mark tile by spending its 6 oranges, it would have also gained the 5-point bonus question mark tile from the same space since it would have been in the lead for question marks on score tiles (15 total for blue, compared to 10 with yellow and 6 of red) and the 7-point tile for having a set of each of one of each of the 1-point to 6-point tiles. In total, he would a gained a total of 18 points on that one turn alone due to the 6-point question mark tile helping in 2 areas there. I'm surprised that you didn't notice how that all aligned together if blue taken that advantage for a massive gained in points on that turn, if the tile had been flipped over at the correct time (at the end of yellow's turn, which happened about 15 seconds eariler).

Yeah, it's crazy. I know there was a reprint in 2018ish, surprised it's still so expensive even with those added copies out there. I guess people aren't really selling it? I've had this copy for a very long time.
