I got myself in trouble doing this. I had a few drinks and misconstrued 16 inches into 16 feet. I found myself knocking on my neighbors side door at 3 am

The 16" thing doesn't always work When doing this YOU ARE ASSUMING THAT THE BUILDER HAS FOLLOWED EVERY SINGLE BUILDING RULE...............don't be silly - Re Locating an Electrical Outlet DO NOT KILL YOURSELF IN THE PROCESS By touching something you shouldn't My Advice, Wear Rubber Dishwashing Gloves then OVER THE TOP OF THOSE Wear Work Gloves that are Cotton with Rubber Palm and Fingers and even then.... ONLY TOUCH THE RUBBER SHEATH OF THE CABLE and never the contacts behind the point or the exposed wires Touch it as if it was 300 degrees and you were scared of burning of fingers BE VERY VERY VERY FUCKING CAREFUL WHEN DOING THIS So that you don't kill yourself also... Do not put a screwdriver near an Electrical outlet............common fucking sense Instead, USE A PLASTIC RULER THAT WAY YOU WON'T KILL YOURSELF - THE KNOCK METHOD "What i call...........The Knock Method" LOL....... Really ??? so You invented it did you ? it's not like Tradies have been doing this for decades. But yes the knock method works LET'S ALSO CONSIDER THE PSYCHOLOGICAL ASPECT OF THIS... When you have an exposed stud in a demonstration IT'S EASY TO PICK WHERE THE STUD IS Now Try to do it when you don't know where they are and the wall is rather thick THAT !!! is a completely different kettle of fish I had a client yesterday try to "DO IT HIMSELF" (put a TV on a wall) He called me because he said he couldn't hit a single stud When i got there he had like 12 holes in the wall with wall anchors all over the place and didn't hit a single stud I got in, i did my thing, Hit the stud the first time AND THAT MY FRIENDS IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN "TAKING A CRACK AT IT YOURSELF" AND "25 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE" it's one thing to watch a you tube video it's another thing all over to practice what you saw in that video at least 100 times - HAMMER AND NAIL METHOD NO !!!! Very tiny Drill bit and Drill method the hole will be much smaller Also do not do it at the skirting board as Builders do not always follow rules see..... you are expecting to see Studs like this | | | | | | | | | | | | But sometimes (Because builders and carpenters figure, THE CUSTOMER IS NEVER GOING TO LOOK IN A WALL, HOW WILL THEY KNOW...) they do this | | | | | | | | | | | | Now if you nail at the skirting board and then you measure directly up , around half way on the wall YOU WILL MISS THE STUD you will then wonder.........WHAT THE FUCK !!!! See...............Little tricks to be aware of

Martin thanks again for watching another video. Definitely agree on the 16” stud placement content. It’s not trustworthy. Have a good one!

You can get your viewership up by being more serious and getting to the point faster; otherwise, this is excellent instruction and can get alot more viewers.

Thanks for the feedback and encouragement! This is one of my older videos when I knew way less about KZbin than I do now. I'd love your feedback on a more recent video to see if you think it holds attention better.
