Perimeter is 44, means that sum of length and width should be half of 44, ie, 22. Now make a table with all possible values of length x width = Area. Example 21 x 1 = 21 20 x 2 = 40 19 x 3 = 57 ... 11 x 11 = 121 12 x 10 = 120 Maximum area will be for the square with the dimensions of 11 x 11. Hope that helps. Thanks

There can be many parallelograms with 14 m and 1m sides. Perimeter for all of them will be 2(14 + 1) = 30 m. However, Area will be different. For area we nee height. If it is a rectangle then the area will be 14x1 = 14 m sq. hope that helps. Thanks HAPPY NEW YEAR

I had a question early in my Math Book for Math 107 (Algebra 2 or Intermediate Algebra) where the question states: The Area of a rectangle is 152in Squared, the Length is 3 inches more than 2 times the width (2x+3 right?) leaving the width to be x. But when I asked around, no one knew how to solve it, and the Book only teaches how to solve when you have the perimeter.. so the Book is of no use. Worst Book ever. I am sitting here trying to figure this out. I got the Equation 152 = 2x+3(x), since the Equation for Area is A=L*W (Area = length TIMES width). What am I doing wrong?
