Fantastic Interview. At around 35 minutes, he hits the nail right on the head about the biggest opportunity for retail investors these days. The short termism is so easily leveraged these days if you just have the patience and the bare minimum foresight.

First 10 seconds is literally how I see it. Price = p/e x EPS Price= P/e x Earnings / Total no of shares outstanding Can split Earnings further to Earnings = Revenue x Net Margin This helps identify the drivers of returns, be it margin increasing, revenue growth, multiple expansion or buybacks

That’s exactly how I see it as well! The PE ratio is an expectation where a value of 15 is roughly equal to expecting organic, mature growth at a reasonable cost of capital. The only difference for me is that his share buyback engine can also be compensated with smart capital allocation that generate consistent high Roic and Eva when the business is earlier in its business cycle. This capital allocation can also be expenses such as R&D or branding (btw these are great because they are tax shields). It’s important considering the stage of the business cycle in which your investment will land at the end of your forecast.

Great points. I’d add a growing Cashflow from operations which results in a better cash position, short term assets or reinvesting in long term growth.

Hi Clay, thanks for the amazing podcast... you mentioned at the end that there is one investor who shares his investment thesis in depth, could you please mention the name of the investor or the website where we can access those? Thank you in advance.

He definitely doesn’t understand the fact that Mag 7 are doing a lot more than just building data centers. Also the vast majority of that CapEx is GPUd and they are all working to build their own in house chips to wean off Nvidia.

Maybe that’s why he is not interested in investing in them rn, which is a smart decision by him. If you know better, maybe you can get higher returns than him.

That metaphor base hit investing makes absolutely no sense. What is line drive supposed to mean and how does it relate to investing. Using weird metaphors like that just confuses people and leads to less understanding.

He's saying to not swing for the fences, just focus on steady returns and those compound overtime.

It makes complete sense. You just don’t understand it, which quite frankly is on you.
