Found a new A14 card for my 2013 Ford Edge. Works flawlessly! Even better, I PAID $12.00 including tax and shipping from ali express. I know it's risky, but it all turned out fine! (I wouldn't have known to press "navigation" to load it. Thanks for the tip!)

A couple of years ago I updated my MKX 2011 sync 2 to a sync 3 , it was a little expensive because you have to replace the whole unit but it was worth it. Now I have Android Auto and Apple Carplay and everything works great cause it keeps all the OEM functions like climate and entertainment controls, a great update.

Do you remember what it costs you? I have a '14 EDGE & was contemplating updating to Sync 3 if it wasn't too expensive. I don't mind sync 2, so for me, it would be hard to justify the cost if it's too much.

@@LTSRIDE24 I'm very glad with my upgrade but I don't remember how much was it, I think you can check it on ebay the one that I got is no longer available but for sure you can find other sellers. The one that I got was shipped all the way from China and it took like 2 weeks to arrived. Just having Apple Carplay and Android Auto was worth the investment and having a flawless infotainment system is very useful.

@@robertogomez8100 I have a small scratch in my screen so I'm debating doing the legit upgrade with new screen if it's not too pricey. If it is pricey, I'll just hack it. 🤷‍♂️

@@LTSRIDE24 If a scratch is the problem maybe you could try an invisibleshield (or similar) screen protector, I installed one on my Sync 3 screen because I noticed that the screen was delicate and even some small scratches that started to appear dissappear or were covered by the screen protector, no more scratches since.

The problem you're having is because Ford switched from Blackberry to Microsoft in 2015. To update earlier versions you need to register for a free sync account with Ford and download an upgrade on a USB.

The sync 2 A12 does work with my 2011 ford edge limited AWD. You have to download a file from ford and load it to your usb when inserting the A12 card. Hope this helps. 😊

The A12 SD card worked fine in my 2011 Ford Edge. I have the latest s/w installed in my Sync 2 system.

it should, but for how long no one knows. v3.10 was the last sync 2 update back in 2018. I know my A12 worked with v3.10. I'm surprised Ford still puts out nav card updates for sync 2. Once they stop, we sync 2 owners may just have to start using our phones for nav or maybe someone will come out with a 3rd party nav card update.

Have you updated the navigation software? There’s a nav software update beyond the sync update.

I think A12 requires 3.10 to load. I may be wrong.

You are correct. You need to update the sync to 3.10 before the A12 will work.

2016 Ford Explorer limited . I have a A11 with version 3.10, no problems. I tried updating to A13 ( 3 times, 3 different Amazon vendors) . Failed, does not recognize.
