**Attention** If you don't see the "Multiple Exposures." window when using the Exposure Time Finder function. Please slice a new file for your model of printer using Chitubox. Then use that file to begin this process. There have been some issues with older pre-sliced tests and some files sliced with Lychee .
@daxliniere3 жыл бұрын
I believe Elegoo Mars 2 Pro (for example), does not support multiple exposures, at least that was the case before they released ChituBox 1.9.0 which required a firmware update for all CTB-based printers. Perhaps the latest firmware for CTB printers supports this now? (I believe that this firmware blocks you from using any slicer other than ChituBox 1.9.0 free or paid.)

@@SlicePrintRoleplayso a quick question…when I ‘test’ to see if my Mars 4 Ultra is compatible it exposes the bottom layer, lifts and retracts, exposes the first block, then lifts and retracts, then exposes the second, third and fourth blocks before lifting and retracting again.. I think since it’s lifting and retracting between the first and second block that I’m going to have issues. Planning to check the documentation to see if my printer is on the list…if that extra lift/retract wasn’t in there I think it would work. I just don’t know if I can trust it, yet.
@SlicePrintRoleplay8 ай бұрын
@@forrestegan hmm I agree that sounds odd. However, the only thing that matters (for the test at least) is that each block is exposed for a slightly longer time than the one before it. As long as that's happening (even if it's lifting at odd times) then the test is likely working correctly.

Test files prior to ctb v3 will not work with this. You need at least ctb v3 file. Rooks at saturn are ctb v2. That's why your recent sliced file worked and rook don't. Most of the times UVtools hides things that are not supported by the file format.

No messages or errors. Just stopped with the print sunerged in the resin tray. Is there a way to "resume" a print? Or just print the remainder of the print. and I could simply apply a touch of resin and the cure the two pieces in to one piece? Also, there are supports and the model is tilted.

Ugh that's such a bummer! Unfortunately, I don't know of an easy way to restart a print that's stopped like what you're seeing. I'm so glad to hear that the video helped you! I know another viewer asked this a few days ago. I had encouraged them to ask this question in the UVTools Facebook group. However, I just looked through the group and couldn't find their question. So I'd definitely recommend you join that group and ask about scaling the test there. They will have the best advice/input. As for how the tests are organized, I believe it just depends on build plate size. If the plate is pretty large then it will put them in a line like what you're seeing. However, on smaller build plates it will stack them to save space.

Hey Slice Print Roleplay, should I concern myself with the testing? Because what I typically do is get the resin settings by model from the resin manufacturer and they have worked out pretty good for me with no issues. Well except me screwing up the casual supports here and there. LOL.
@SlicePrintRoleplay Жыл бұрын
So the answer to that 100% depends on you. If you're happy with the results you're seeing then that's all that matters. I will never be so "Elite" as to say that you have to calibrate your settings. However, if you're having failures, your models are lacking details, or you're just curious then calibrating your exposure time is a great diagnostic step.

HEY SPR, Allow me to begin by saying that I love your videos and have just about gone through and watched every video you've put out for Resin and most of the FFM vids, and I have a very serious question. Would you "PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do an Updated video about setting up multiple test prints with various Exposure Times in the New/Updated Version of UVTools. I had used UVTools many times now to dial in multiple resins I've been purchasing but with the new updates I am just so lost... I'm sure I can't be the only person in the world with these issues, and there's no other videos on KZbin that have acknowledged this. Not to mention that I get the most out of YOUR tutorial videos. The way you set up the videos and explain everything with images/videos/clips/etc. just work for me and obviously many others. If you would be willing to do an Update to UVTools, the community would be very appreciative. Thank you in advance, now let's go print something! **EDIT** I have been resin printing on my Elegoo Saturn 8K, and the multiple exposure capability has worked up until UVTools had this recent update.

multi exposure test just wow ! this sounds amazing, I have to give this a try , that would be realyl amazing to print these tests all in one go, rather then keep swapping although, as you mentioned, you might get different results becasue the light / fep might not behave the same way on the edgees vs center I will be testing new exposure test, going with more thinner layer ( I have pretty good setup - I think - for 0,03 , but I want to try printing 0.02 now ) btw I wonder why you suggest to not cure these?

Question, does the printer lift up Z after every single tile or does it the exposures for all the tiles in one layer from left to right and then lift in Z?

That's a fantastic question. So this used to be an option you could toggle on and off called, "Do not preformed the lifting sequence for layers with the same Z positioning." However, I believe that this option is now always enabled, but some printers do not support this feature.

Unfortunately it seems surface tension for this tester seems too much for the Photon Mono. So far only ended up with a handful of failed prints of the resin just adhering to the FEP rather than the bed after the bottomlayers were done. Which meant a lot of cleanup trying to cleanly remove the cured resin from the FEP without damaging it...

Okay so I updated to the latest version and tested it. Everything looks normal to me. So a few things could be going on. First, the file you're using, did you slice it with Lychee, Chitubox, or something else? For an unknown reason, files sliced with Lychee won't show the Exposure Time Finder function. However, files sliced with Chitubox work fine... Still no idea why. Second, what file type are you using? It's possible it's a file type that's not compatible with this function.
