Nice rainbow! I used to float tube fish Nolichucky all the time I need to do that again. I didn’t know there were spots to park and hike around and fish much but I’ll have to investigate that.

Another awesome video Micheal. Me and my son fished that same area about2 weeks ago loaded with smallies .But we never caught any trout so that's awesome you managed too

Fun fact around that area I caught my pb catfish. Grew up in Erwin my whole life and have always loved fishing the river right there

Awesome video man! Love the gorge, been fishing it for 35 years now! My dad taught me how to sein grampus like that in the creeks around there and small channels in the river when I was growing up, you can also flip rocks up on the high banks and get monster grampus before they go into the morphing stage. Love the video bro, I'll be heading upstream about 4-5 miles this week for some 20"+ smallmouth. You should go up there to mile marker 144-146 sometime up the tracks, I know you'll get some monster river smallmouth. FYI- I buy nc sportsman every year just to hunt and fish the gorge! I'll try to get a good video when I go, just starting a channel so "bear" with me. Thank you for another awesome video up there! Happy fishing man!

Oh yeah, it can bite. Big ones can hurt but most are not bad to handle.

good video but something kept irritating me, it was the noisy background music, you should forever remove that, the natural sounds and your voice is much better, i could barely finish video cause of the music
