Split step isn’t the actual goal here of Hinata. “This training arc was for him to master the basics and most importantly, HOW TO RECEIVE like the best receivers.” So I can say since Hinata is the worst receiver in Karasuno, his purpose (what the actual coaches meant) was his RECEIVING SKILLS.

Just like what Ukai said, "Never underestimate what it take to be a ball boy." Coach Washijo is just giving Hinata what we call "tough love". He needs to be disciplined on what he did joining the training camp as he wasn't even invited. That's rude tbh.

Sure, but shouldn't he get the same perks as the other ball boys? If they are allowed to eat there, shouldn't he, too? Not to mention that those trainers do have some responsibility for the children they train. Sending a child out in the darkness to hike back who knows how far after having nothing to eat the whole day is just irresponsible.

@@swanpride Other boy balls are students of that same school. And nobody is forcing Hinata to come there. And Hinata is not trainers responsibility, and he made his decision so he should be mature enough to go through it. If he doesn't want to he can just quit being the boy ball.

Hinata like didnt respect Coach in there (Washijo and others) and others uninvited students... if im the uninvited student to training camp with selected student in the prefecture... and someone like hinata just come to training camp and coach in that camp accept it and treat it like other participant... it will make i rly piss off bro Btw, Washijo is one of a person who makes hinata stronger... u will see later in season 4 cour 2 :D

You have to remember that while Hinata has definitely improved he still has a lot of issues with the basics. Like take the Karasuno vs Johzenji. When they switched out Kageyama because of a bloody nose they switched out Hinata because most of the players on the bench are better than he is at the basics. When Shiratorizawa's coach said that he sees no value in him outside of Kageyama that's what he means. Hinata a huge threat right now because Kageyama is his setter. He's a good spiker but bad at receives, sets and serves. He needs to improve on his own

I want to explain why coach washijo sensei let hinata stay and made him a ballboy. Coach Washijo sensei sees himself in hinata a small volleyball player, so now he wanted to see if his choice to give up was correct by watching how a small player which is hinata, respond when he was deemed unworthy without kageyama, he is like that to hinata because his expectations are high on hinata because he will soon then realize that there are other choices other than giving up when you are small, that’s why after the training camp he mentioned something about those who are small, even if they were not gifted with height, the small players are always gifted with hunger to be strong

The coach simply denying Hinata's potential because he as a short guy did nothing to improve nor able to show his abilities he accepted that being short is a weakness and hold tightly for a guy who has the height and power that he always wanted. He couldn't accept that Hinata despite being short as him could get and have the power that he always wanted. Because accepting him is like accepting his shortcomings on getting better.
