Finding A NASTY Surprise In The TT's Oil & Upgrading The Grille!

Hey everyone,
Today we are switching our sights back to the TT and starting some pre wrap preparation. While it is still a bit too cold to wrap the car, we have quite a long list of upgrades we can get done ahead of time to keep ourselves busy. We start with a simple oil change, which led to a nasty surprise. Once we patch that up, we move on to installing an aftermarket honeycomb grill. I am really starting to like how this car is looking!

I really enjoy your video. I got need some love- TT 225 recenctly. trunk trim that surrounds rear glass is broken, also trunk handle trim panel is broken, no engine covers at all, faded paint, broken door trim clips so it hangs, etc. It will be slow, slow process to make it good shapre, but hey, we are on same boat! I am actually in AZ, so if you find any parts, (especially grey door trims!) can you let me know?

I have watched every one of the tt videos and that car really has some surprises, though this time it wasn’t that bad. Nice video as always though cant wait to see the tt hit the track at some point

Why don't you use 0w-40 given it has even better flow in cold Temps? Also there are clear headlight reflectors that look so way better than the orange. Definitely check it out of you haven't already. You could do that and restore the headlights at the same time.

Nice work! Definitely enjoying your level of production. Our 1.8ts are notorious for what seems like excessive moisture buildup. If you ever plan on installing a catchcan setup, I would highly recommend a closed loop vs a VTA system. Daily driving with a VTA in this climate makes it 10x worse!

That grille looks epic the difference it has made is unreal. I'm about to order 1 too for my TT. Think the badges look better as they are more streamlined and don't poke our as far as the OEM. Love your vids

I changed my valve cover gasket and had the oil pan off, and after the first start..i thought it was over for the head gasket...but it was just water in thr system 😅

What kind of mileage would you say is acceptable for a project tt? Keep up the videos man

That's a good question. I've always thought that cars last alot longer than most people think. In my mind it's more about how the car was driven and less about how much it was driven. If it was taken care of, mileage isn't my biggest concern. My first car had mid 200k and was incredibly reliable. I picked up my TT around 160k and it's been great!
