This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Finding Bangladesh is a documentary series to spread awareness regarding Bangladesh's rich heritage, mesmerizing histories and perplexing mythologies.
Different people assign Mr. Fakir to different identities. Officially a student of economics, unofficially one of the world, a filmmaker, a poet, a photographer, a development worker, a feminist, but above all a humanitarian.
Adnan M. S. Fakir completed his Masters in Economics from University of Sussex, UK and recently joined as a lecturer at the Economics and Social Sciences (ESS) department of BRAC University. He is also vastly involved in documentary film-making, currently working on a project titled, “Finding Bangladesh.”
Finding Bangladesh is a documentary series that focuses on the histories, mythologies and legends of pre 1952 Bangladesh. “Finding Bangladesh 2: Tales of the South” is set to come out in the second half of 2014 covering 11 stories, 17 historical sites and a lot of running around.
Previously Mr. Fakir had worked in The Daily Star and other national newspapers as a feature writer. He loves writing poetry with three published books over the last decade
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Thank you, Adnan! I now appreciate my own culture even more - we do have all the museums and folklore in Russia, but we don't seem to care enough ;( I wish you the best of luck in knowing your country and finding a part of yourself!

An amazing presentation of history and culture. Inspired me a lot to visit. Thanks TEDx and thanks to Adnan and his team. We definitely should know our country and culture. And as far i realized knowing our own country is now the crying need. Nowadays we see a conflict religious vs culture that has been created by a group of people who are getting profit in various ways, that could be politically, financially. Be aware of your culture. A culture never could be anti religion what i believe. Get out of the box. And know your culture. ভালো থাকুন।

I really object your claim @13:35, no Muslim can ever ask for protection from a diety or idol. Only Allah can protect us, and He alone is the protector of the earth and what's within it. Don't mislead, manipulate, or misguide.

I see you're preaching secularism here. No muslim can ever pray to any diety or God other than Allah. Allah almighty is the only God we pray to and only He is worthy of worship. He is free from anything that you compare Him with. Any muslim who prays to any diety other than Allah, is misguided. Like here you're misguiding.
