Finding Inspiration For Lolita Fashion Coordinates

honestly i think my biggest inspiration is the coords i dreamed of when i first began in the fashion but couldn't always achieve because i was young and broke. to this end i have a lot of very early GLBs i like to flip through, including the ones that first introduced me to the fashion, although admittedly i spend less time in the street snaps and more looking at the ads and spreads. it does kind of mean my style is forever mid- to late-2000s, with sometimes very simple styling, but also that's where i'm comfy! also re: secondhand mooks, my best bet was surugaya through from-japan. the shipping was high, of course, but i found several GLBs between ¥300-¥1300, while they tend to be more in the $20-$40 USD range in western markets.

Yes to Tumblr! Honestly that tip applies to pretty much any japanese fashion or subculture, there's just so much to be found from years past and new scanlations are posted regularly. I find that having a sideblog for reblogging is also way more useful than Pinterest boards, since you get a proper archive with dates and tags for sorting and finding more easily 💕
