This video came right on time since I'll be visiting Osaka in February! I was definitely already planning on wearing lolita when I'll be shopping 😊

Thank you so much, this makes me more excited for my trip in January. I am hoping to do the same roundup but with a plus size lolita perspective.

Great review - you covered all the important tips. Laforet in Tokyo is great! Good to know that Kyoto is great for j fashion too. Did you go to swallowtail in ikebukuro? If not, I recommend going in Lolita. It’ll be better if you know some Japanese!

Love this! As another food allergy (including gluten 😭) and chronic illness person, I’d love Japan travel tips related to that in a video or social media post, if that’s stuff you’re willing to share of course 💗

Of course ! Also keep in mind I'm pescatarian, but if you eat meat I've heard you can go to Yakitori & other grilled meat restaurants. For food allergies including gluten, you're honestly best off avoiding 99% of restaurants. Here's the prepared food I ate: Salted red salmon onigiri & pickled plum onigiri (but i didn't like this one when I tried it lol) from 7-11 & Lawson, Sushi from conveyor belt restaurants (mostly Kura & Kaiten), Glico brand custard pudding, macarons (obviously avoid any flavours like oreo, cheesecake etc that could have gluten) & various things of ice cream + soda + chips + nuts (buy the ones with no flavor to be safe) For most of your food, you will have to cook - soy was a much bigger issue for me than gluten but anything with soy has gluten in it, so you need to be really careful! Also, don't eat anything with mayo in it - Japanese mayo has gluten. I'd also recommend avoiding wasabi because the cheap kind can have wheat as a binding agent. If you're ordering from a conveyor belt restaurant, it'll normally give you an option to order without. I would eat breakfast, bring a snack like nuts or chips or a single onigiri, and eat dinner when we got back to the airbnb. I bought most of the ingredients from 7-11 (frozen veggies and you can buy the salted mackarel and salted salmon grilled fish), a local grocery store and Seijo Ishii (this is an import grocery store where I bought cheese, gluten & soy free mayo, gf bread & pasta). I would recommend bringing a few snacks from home, I brought granola & microwave popcorn but I wish I had brought more because it was hard to find stuff to eat sometimes. This list is really good for GF: fukuokaeats.com/eats/gluten-free-japan This is "gluten free" in Japanese - グルテンフリー You can use this on google maps to find GF restaurants (you can use "gluten free" in English as well but I found that they both turned up different results). Indian restaurants also usually have GF options, like in the west :) As a heads up, its really hard to find places to sit, especially outside of malls... malls will sometimes have benches but there's really not a lot of benches randomly around. If you need to sit often, you should plan carefully to go to restaurants & cafes every hour or so, because it will be hard to find a random place to relax. This really sucked for us, because you will do a ton of walking. Feel free to PM me on instagram as well if you have other questions !

Your Japan content makes me want to go 💔 I really like your Fancy Border coordinates, it has a different vibe to your usual coords (maybe more modern lolita?) but still very much you!

Did you notice if there were any plus size selections in the places you've been to in Japan?

Hi! There were no specific plus size sections that I noticed in stores. Like another commenter mentioned, Atelier Pierrot will probably have the best offerings. Id also recommend you check out Kera as they have multiple brands and you might find something plus size. I think it might also help to familiarize yourself with recent releases from brands you like on lolibrary to see what might fit in advance and then try those on in stores. I don't doubt that it will be harder to shop plus size as even mainstream fashion in Japan isn't plus size friendly. Best of luck though and I hope you find pieces you love! :)
