I think the medical community is moving towards not screening for prostate cancer because the current objective screening measures are PSA and digital rectal exams. Positive results leads to fine needle aspiration which can wholly end up at benign. However, if the aspirate comes back as cancer, then treatment is indicated. But the mortality of prostate cancer is low. So the whole point of moving towards not screening for prostate cancer is because the pros don’t outweigh the cons. More people die with prostate cancer than from prostate cancer because of other co-morbidities. I’m just commenting on where medicine is currently with the actual “benefits” of prostate cancer screening. Again, talking about screening, not being symptomatic (eg painful ejaculation, dribbling with urination, nocturna).

I don’t think they’re moving away from screening for prostate cancer. Getting a positive biopsy does not automatically indicate a need for treatment. A significant proportion of men with positive biopsies will go into active surveillance with regular PSA tests and will wait to undergo treatment until the need is indicated by rising PSA Generally speaking, the idea is that treatment has its own risks, so doctors don’t advise getting treatment until the risks of not getting treated begin to outweigh the risks of treatment

@@phanke8685 But doesn’t that underscore the point that prostate cancer screening doesn’t hold a lot of weight anymore. It’s a C grade on USPSTF. The money and slog of getting a biopsy due to 2 high PSA results just to come back as benign or malignant without need for treatment isn’t appealing as a workflow. PSA is definitely something to track if someone has/had prostate cancer or under surveillance. But there is a good split of people not ordering PSA or doing a DRE for prostate cancer screening. I understand the reason for screening but current prostate screening measures no longer have the weight it did when it rolled out. I’m not saying I’m right, but if I’m getting practice and test questions about how PSA is not a great screening measure then I think that’s enough for me to say that people are moving away from it. I’ve ordered a PSA and not ordered one on men who basically have the same health profile. Then I send them to urology and they don’t do anything except follow up in 6 months.

Pressure on lower abs makes organs move and apply pressure to the sex organs, making them feel kinda good. Like how women usually feel good when their boobs are touched. A full bladder is enough (speaking from experience) to make some men "in the mood." Touch and pressure replicates that/ can intensify it further. Pretty much just anatomy, although the physical touch itself and the intimacy of sex will also make things feel better.

For the pain and uncomfortable feelings, if it's coming from tightness, try looking at pelvic floor stretches, and relaxing down there with breathing techniques. I have found it massively helpful. There are a surprising number of physical therapists that specialize in this on tiktok for men and women. Poses like butterfly, and more specific stretches that they show are especially great if you spend a lot of time sitting and being anxious like me lol. I've seen them also recommend slowly/carefully using dilators for a bit. The only thing is to be at least semi-consistent with the stretches or else you might tighten back up pretty painfully. Also lots of lube and easing into it each time. Don't just shove it in!

I don't think that the correlated health issues form the other commenters are necessarily are true, but Definitely check your diet if you're spending a lot of time on the toilet, wiping too hard, and straining- look at your fiber intake. Also consider doing some pelvic floor stretches(not kegels, that's the opposite of what you want) too loosen up. It can also be linked to sitting too much and hypertension can increase bleeding if you already have hemorrhoids. Once you have had them, they're more likely to come back. Ignore me if you already know this tho. I don't want to patronize
