People become more vulnerable and needy and less attractive as they age or if they fall ill at any age. AlFor this reason anyone with a transactional view of relationships like Dr. Taraban will fail to sustain a marriage because it is selfish and exploitative and treats people as objects to be utilised.

don’t get it twisted… Dating has predominantly a western culture thing. in most eastern cultures there is courting. which means you have expectations and hard ins and outs before marriage. dating in the west has become based on feelings and expectations without any real significance. i’ve seen and met so many couples that have been ‘dating’ for 15 years or more… common law marriage is an example of this as well

So many people in the US have no idea about purpose & meaning in life. Beautiful smart people are often the ones most confused. They need to be encouraged to believe in their nobility & the potential of their offspring rather than treating life as petty comfort seeking.
@Arquebusier89
@Arquebusier89 2 ай бұрын
So i checked and differentiated the two definitions. How do you court when both of you haven’t dated? Everyone needs to go through dating before courting, unless you are referring to the arranged marriage, that modern Eastern culture is not common any more. You are wrong
@mattvalens
@mattvalens 2 ай бұрын
@@Arquebusier89 At least in China, women are expected to be virgins before getting married, that being said if you dated for fun before you meet the love of your life, you most likely already lost your purity as a value. However, in 21 century, there has been heated arguments about it raised by feminists, especially those well educated single women over 30s. Basically, they read plenty of romance novels and watched tons of American movies or TV shows when they were accumulating their life experiences in 20s, and expecting an attractive male to fall in love with. But the reality is most of the man in their life is not enough for them anymore. I can see a future in the eastern countries where without the religious belief, the dating culture is becoming more popular. Nowadays, girls are expecting to have a relationship first in college, and get married with the same person is the best case scenario.

It's been three years since I retired, and while inflation has made it tough to maintain my lifestyle, especially when I was living in the city. relocating to the countryside has helped me manage things better. Being single again, it’s been a bit lonely since most of my friends and family are still caught up in their routines. But it's been easier to stretch my savings, and hopefully, I won’t outlive it.

When 2 people stop using each other for their own benefit is when you can have a REAL, true, honest, and mutually fulfilling relationship. Until we can see relationship as a mutual giving, instead of a mutual taking, we will never experience a true connection with another human being. And this is why people are so lost and unhappy; it's that simple! I mean, how can you be fulfilled if you only look at people like a transaction where you're trying to get the best deal.

This is why getting married young makes the most sense. You are overwhelmed with love and so do not care about how it looks or whether it is a good deal or not for you to always be together. You join together first and then figure out the practical things of life with a mate- you face the world happily together.

Marriage is in part self sacrifice for the future of your child and by extension the human race. People have become selfish and are trying to have a "Game optimal" strategy, like what you dive into inside your book. However, without cooperation and kindness, its really not a good human experience. And people who only see how to improve their end of the agreement will never be truly at peace.

At the 25 year mark our kids through us an awesome marriage celebration!! All of our friends and family came. Two years later the marriage ended once the kids left home. It was very hard but it was ultimately for the best. My second marriage has been amazing and we are working towards a decade now! I have plans for us to have an awesome celebration at our 25th. @@Alex.Kalashnik you probably won’t be surprised to know that it was her. In three decades a lot can happen. Neither of us did anything that would make for juicy gossip. I asked her to marry me when she was 18 and I was 21. We put each other through both college and graduate school after we both finished years of being in the military. We were always great friends and were occasionally passionate lovers. When our youngest child finished college she simply had enough. She wanted a different life and she got it. I wanted more of what we had with some upgrades. Long story short, I married a similar woman a decade younger who is frankly smarter and definitely better looking. I never strayed in my first marriage, but I always knew I had options. When my first wife called it quits a mutual friend asked me out on the spot and we’ve been together ever since. My first wife even admitted that the second wife was a better fit for me. My kids love her and encouraged the relationship from the beginning. The first wife is now married to a nice guy that is more her speed. I’m happy for her. It took her a few years to find him and it was tough for her until she did.

30 yrs ago I used to believe when you want to enter marriage you get to find a ""good deal "" ( because the society taught us so ) . After 30 yrs of marriage and difficult life (most of the time struggling with all kinds of difficulties in life ),I have to say , marriage is about love , not about a good deal . You need to get through the difficulties together to build true love . True love doesn't just fall from the sky . Relationship is like the wine , the older it gets , the more mature it becomes. If you would like to take advice , I would recommend you go through it and skip all these nonsense videos . If you believe you're going to fail (in marriage, love , relationship .... even in life ) even before you enter it , how can you ever succeed ? The proverb: "work of faith ,labor of love , endurance of hope" says it all . And I wish all of you there find your soulmate and live a great life.

More and more men and women are sitting back and examining relationships and are moving towards the notion that “the work/effort/rewards better be split down the middle or I’m not bothering with it”. Now logically it makes sense to think like this but in reality, most relationships are quite a bit lopsided - one person puts in the most effort while getting less reward. Just imagine if our parents and grandparents had this mindset going into adulthood - very few would have bothered to get involved in a serious relationship .. I mean, if one goes into a relationship looking for everything to be split 50/50 then that relationship is doomed from the start
@zensvlognotapro

During the time of our parents and grandparents they were disciplined and responsible who knew their roles in the relationship. They knew how to initiate, they knew their duties and responsibilities in the relationship. Reciprocity is not always mean a strict 50/50 split . This day and age there are many women who earn more than men some are jobless. Though some men are house husband and the some women are the providers some relationship succeed on that set up but usually no. I think reciprocity is what we call trade-offs of energies, resources, skills, talents, gifts, expertise etc. etc. . That's the solution I can see so that man and woman will live HaPpilY ever after 😁😄

Basically this guys views on women is shaped by the fact that he was rejected by women when he was younger and now they only want him for his money. I find him extremely cynical. It would be nice, but intrinsic value doesn't pay the bills, and every year, inflation climbs higher and higher in the world. This is why I blame the greedy elite people, that warp the economy to such an extent that the middle class is disappearing. A man's expectation in a relationship is to provide and protect, and how is he supposed to do that when the system at large is designed from the start to keep him poor and in financial debt? Women, who do not have any expectation revolving around money or power in a relationship, look at us men who have been neutered by inflation and dismiss us, in favor of a possible relationship with the 1%ers who run this world. They only want the BEST, right? That ain't us, and that's why we have started not even trying. Because of that sentiment, there is now a global birthrate collapse, as kids are just too expensive to raise, and most dads are the strong and able, not Mr. Average who cant even get noticed by a woman. The economy is to blame, and at the root of the economy problems, are the wealthiest 1%ers who don't care about making homes unaffordable, or not enough land to buy, because it is quite literally not their problem. They won't lose an ounce of sleep over the actions they did that screwed us all over, both directly and indirectly.

The healthiest long term relationship I ever knew was my best friend’s parents. They never believed in marriage; they were more Buddhist and spiritual, and very sure of themselves… they never felt the need to have the state validate their union, or require the attention of all their friends in a ceremony. Whereas most of the marriages I’ve known have failed, or appeared miserable from the outside. People can see marriage as a crutch: ‘there’s now a legal document that says you can’t leave me without a huge cost’, they think, as if it’s some kind of insurance. The reality is, it’s nothing of the sort. Husbands and wives get divorced as flippantly as boyfriends and girlfriends break up. In 2024, having a lasting relationship WITHOUT a marriage contract is more of an impressive feat than having a lasting marriage. It means you based your union on things other than a legal threat, hopefully things more profound like love or the raising of children. Be wise gents. Do not get married.

Just a different perspective for you After abruptly ending a 2 1/2 year relationship myself in late 2022, it took me several months of similar feelings that you describe, until I got to a very special insight Perhaps it’s useful ? It has to do with the story we are telling about our life when we are with someone, especially as long as you were It’s the story we tell about who we are in the world with that person, what we’ve done and what we are currently doing and most, especially what we are planning for in the future Where we will live together, what we will do for fun, where we will travel, money concerns, family, etc. That story is so deep, and so entrenched, it seems like there can be no other story My insight, involved the realization that I had to step forward and create a new story for myself, from top to bottom In my case, I moved, to another state But that’s not really the most impactful thing It took over a year to consider carefully the story of my life, moving forward and who I am in the world and what I want to do I offer you this insight, perhaps it serves to cushion the blow a bit, and shed some much-needed light Good luck and take care:)

@@ericbaxter3944 The most dangerous person in a woman's life is a male partner. There is absolutely zero incentive for an employed woman to seek a male partner for economic stability when she could seek something safer: other women. The 2nd amendment applies for women too so needing a man for protection isn't true either. It's become an "every person for themself" world out there. Women have responded by entering the workforce and making their own money, as well as doing all the stuff they did before. Men have not stepped up in kind by developing tedious domestic skills so they will continue to be left behind until they do. This starts with boys developing the proper expectations that they will not have access to free female labor indefinitely. This is why it is my opinion that the biggest threat to men's future is probably the "boy mom".

It you are a young man and you want to build a family which gives you a support system, progeny and a family legacy you have to learn how women and relationships work and then choose wisely. "Love" is a real thing that can last a lifetime and keep you going when things don't make sense at the moment so don't dismiss or discount it. I think to be a "Man" in the finest sense of the word you need to find a woman who will give you fidelity, children and support. Personally, I have been married for 45 years, had an exciting life of accomplishment and experiences, and raised two productive contributing adults and created a significant estate. My wife contributed to this in no small way. This was always my goal and I feel satisfied that I have achieved it. I post this to illustrate that marriage if entered into with an informed, mature and reasoned attitude can yield a positive result . If I was to become single I would not get married again because there is no point in it. Without children, marriage is too great a risk relative to potential rewards.

He's just highlighting the essence of relationships to men, it doesn't mean it is mutually exclusive to romance and all the good human virtues to nurture (BTW VIRTUE GOES BOTH SIDES THAT'S THE THING). But western women need to be brought back to their A's and B's. It's like Molière had temporary amnesia and forgot the rules of grammar. To fight and make realize the fundamental disillusion on the other side, fundamentality of argument is the only valid argument. E.g. in a dystopic world where we destroyed environnement we are still debating about clean energy solutions where the debate lies in the fact that we tapped into the finite growth of our world due to a disillusion of infinite growth, don't get me wrong, clean energy serves to optimize our use of energy and is the important/cool battle in time of peace. but when we reach the wall we need to accept the MORE low level TRUTH that what's the point of consuming 2x less energy through bright solutions if greed tells us to consume 2x more energy following the newfound abundance? The problem is climate change deniers and ppl not even accepting the most fundamental truth that our planet is finite in resources, because greed can then be negociated as it should, then, but you can't get there if you deny the facts. See, women reached a point of social utter blindness where they reached TOTAL disillusion without any counter balance to their emotional greed. Where they project their nature onto men and in the process disallowing them to appreciate men for the invisible battles they vanquish out of sheer good heart and humility. Women need to be humbled without white gloves. As you proved with your total unopenness to a different reality men face that you expect out of entitlement, rejecting elemental truth and acceptance because it rubs you the wrong way. Ask your grandmother if she thinks sex is something demeaning or gives her purpose and power (and with power comes duty, only if you realize it) as a woman who has the monopoly over this thing of primordial importance for men (literally like food for us, you can't judge us by transposing YOUR biological imperatives on us, that's literally the definition of intolerance or colonialism, like not accepting gay rights because it feels gross or unnatural to you). They want to control everything you do!! Write down your own marriage agreement on paper as a couple and call yourself married! You do not need a State Marriage License to call yourself married! Haven’t you found it odd how silent and different things become after people you knew growing up get married?! This is not normal! People sell their souls to the State! They fall in love and then they hand their lives over to the State, so the State can control them! People need to wake the up! The silence of the State Marriage License is beyond defining! You do not have to live like this! This info needs to be taught to high schools students, so they can make a better decision! Do you know how raging the State would become if everyone started to fall in love and opted out of the state marriage license!?! My guess is they would start to prosecute people and pass new laws. That’s how effed we are! They need to control the majority of society! More then anything, men need this information!! They become trapped financially to the State! Statistically this State License is not good for 50% of the nation. So if what I’m saying does not mean anything to you and all of your friends. Then congrats. But so many others suffer because of how the State entraps millions of men in our society! And this can be prevented if only people knew this information! 🟡And don’t give me the religious and christianity speech. There are plenty of Christians that get divorced! In fact I think it’s religious people who are the most trapped. They rush a marriage license in order to have sex. Because according to their beliefs, they cannot have sex outside of a marriage. So in order to have sex, they hurry the marriage license up fast, just to have sex. Then later on down the road, they find out that they made a bad decision. Then it’s off to getting a divorce. So then when they find someone new, they cannot have sex outside of marriage, so they quickly get that piece of paper from the state, so they can have sex again. It’s absolutely pathetic! That’s a life of misery! Keep the state out of it!! Find love and keep it between both of you and call it marriage!

Women used to raise children with other women because we anticipate the needs of one another a lot of men can’t do that, they want to be told what to do. Men aren’t nurturing and aren’t very helpful in heterosexual relationships with child rearing that’s why they were given the job of “provider and protector”. We need another set up because the one we have isn’t working, we need community again.

In reality it is the exact opposite: since women were useless in hunting, they were forced to take the other load in way easier tasks like gathering and taking care of kids/home. But don't let it be twisted, the fact that mostly women have been doing something doesn't mean that they are better at it. It only means that men had more important tasks that needed to be prioritized. But now in the modern societybwe have had enough statistics to compare the performance of single dads vs. moms. And the results are absolutely ugly. It has been shown clear as day that single moms are attrocious at that job, while single dads are great. There is no debate about that anymore, the issue has been settled.

If they don't... they get in, get off, get out, and then ghost. Psychologically, it's a better relationship if they do pay. Even for them, unless the woman is outright abusive & ungrateful. It's been my experience (as a witness) that divorce is very bad for both parties involved... except for the attorneys. I stayed in my marriage twenty some odd years longer than I wanted to. But as a widow, I'm four times better off financially. I'd like to find love again, hopefully a more fulfilling one. But everyone my age who's capable of a relationship is already married. Divorced men are bitter, suspicious, & defensive. And younger, single men are either players, creeps, or intolerant of anyone who looks older than 25. I'm also paranoid as hell because I have a lot to protect & the world is full of hounds and wolverines. So, no dating aps for me. And unless someone near me gets wise, my only dates are going to be with cosmetic doctors... for a while. Love is not easy. It's a lot of work... regardless of your situation.

Men should wake up and realize that marriage does not bring any benefits at all, unless if u have a 100% water tight premarital agreement , but u still need to pray and hope the judge dont throw out your premarital agreement , just because he was in a bad mood that day. Safer to simply remain single than put your whole life’s financial future on the decision of a judge . Just have many many girlfriends (10 to 50 girlfriends in various countries all over the world ) would be a smarter way

The major exception is if there is something bad that happens in your life. If you get hurt/injured/ill, your wife is there for you; your mistress or one of your several girlfriends aren’t gonna drive you home from surgery, hold your hand during chemo, or bring you water and soup. Other things as well…if you get fired, lose a family member or friend to death, or experience any sort of tragic life thing… a spouse has signed up to be by your side in a way others of less commitment are not. 🤷‍♀️

@Almneur Sir since you have no idea of who we are, and our relationship with each other than how can you make an absolute judgement of things? Did they teach you that everything boils down to money in economics classes and did you go to the Chicago boys for your education (Milton Freidman)? BTW I could have caught a whole lot of diseases for free, that is true:) If your wife is your best friend then you got something going. On our honeymoon I was young and dumb and climbed a narrow ledge on a Maine coast cliff. We reached a point where we could go no further unless I jumped up off the ledge and pulled the grass to get over the lip. I got stuck grasping the very short cut grass barely hanging on and could not pull myself up. I yelled for help, but the ocean noises drowned out my request. The lip my wife stood on was 13 " wide and had a drop of 40' to rocks and heavy waves crashing in below. I said to my wife and can't hold anymore just let me slide back and don't touch me. If my momentum keeps me moving out and down, then if you try to push me in your a very likely to fall with me. She didn't listen and pushed in as hard as she could, and we both almost went off together. Another time years later we had a 100' used microwave tower we installed from a 1 KW wind turbine. It did not have slip ring commutators, and the 3 wires twisted up and shorted coming from the 3-phase alternator. it was winter we were poor and needed the energy since we were off grid. So, on a cold windless day hard to find in upstate NY on top of a huge mountain I climbed the tower. Instead of just one wire needing repair I had to come down and buy a new 3 wire to replace. By the time I almost finished the repair the wind had picked up and i was strapped in but barely hanging on. My fingers became so cold I could not move them and could climb down. She yelled up the fire company can reach you. I said we are already barely financially making it (Different now we are actually quite well of now, our business ideas in the long run worked) I said do not call the fire company they will charge us money we didn't have. So against my firm request she climbed up the tower without any tie in ropes as I yelled get ropes and tie in as you go up. She yelled your freezing to death up there and darkness is almost here. Well, she climbed all the way up and gave me hand warmers and smacked then to activate them It was intense pain as my hands warmed and I could move my fingers some and we climbed down. I was not sick when I went up but had a high fever in the morning and got really sick. I had a certain amount of frost bite. So, guys there are women out there that when they love a man, they give their whole hearts to him. I am writing this since you often in life get what you think the reality is. If you think all women want your money chances are the women, you find will be that way.

1:06:20 Actually, while it is true that naturally men are the gatekeepers of commitment, if you’re married that’s not really the case because most men are locked into staying in unhappy marriages because they’re legally bound to do so and would have their lives financially ruined if they left. If they were legally bound to do so, you’d probably see more men initiate divorce in marriage too (though still not as much as women do). So in that case, they are forced to stay ‘committed’ even if they don’t want to be. So in marriage in the West, most men are not even the gatekeepers of marriage for legal resources.
