Your commentary and sense of humor are enough. Keep doing what you’re doing. I think most people just want to see real life. And because a lot of people are stuck right now as well, it’s helpful to know we’re not alone. You’re hilarious, and I love your rants. You’re real. Still internally giggling about you sliding off the couch in the last vid 😂✌️

I feel the same, so tired and unmotivated, just want to sit on the couch all day, or sleep constantly. You're my favourite to watch right now because you're showing the real side to this pandemic, the annoyance at others for not following guidelines, the exhaustion, and the lack of certainty and how being unable to make plans makes us feel. You make me feel less alone 😘

You' re not the only one feeling unmotivated. These kind of days are coming more common to me, don't want to get out of bed, suffering anxiety at Covid times is awful, but I will live one day at the time; maybe tomorrow the sun will be brighther than today

I completely understand how you’re feeling. I was actually diagnosed with high functioning depression when I was 16. I’m 26 now, and it has been so frustrating. So what high functioning depression means, is that you’re depressed, obvs, but you’re still able to do all the things that you have to do but it absolutely drains you to do those things. It’s not fun, and it hinders your daily life so much. I hope you feel better soon and that you find your motivation. This year has been a devastating one for everyone, don’t be too hard on yourself. Rest and be kind to yourself 🧡

There is something called Allostatic Load which is essentially that when there's stressors (especially ones shared by the whole world and that are reminded of daily) it takes up brainspace and energy - it's okay to feel exhausted and tired for 'no reason' - we're surviving apandemic and your year was stressful even back in january before the rest of this stuff hit. You're allowed to feel low in motivation, and its okay.

Good old fashioned pen and paper often saves the day 😊💖 I personally enjoy the vlogs exactly the way they are, don't feel you need to be anything more or do anything more than you are doing. Going through this phase is normal and the worst thing is to resist it, lean into it and take it one day at a time. It can be challenging when we go through something that feels in conflict with how we normally operate but you will be fine and are doing great 😊💖

I use to feel like that many years ago when I started working from home. To solve the “lack of motivation “ issue: 1. Create a routine (workout, eat clean, shower, eat breakfast, go for a walk, get 8+ hours of sleep) I love repetition. Plan our goals (3 months, 6 months, 1 year goals). I also started taking natural supplements to help me sleep/relax and brain supplements that help with concentration and motivation. Some video ideas (weekly vlogs, workout routines, cooking videos, plan with me, Budgeting, etc)

In the same boat here girl! It is crazy how unmotivated life feels atm. I use music to boost my energy and help me get my shit done. Pen to paper lists > that is my go to, feel good method too. A little clean up does make me feel a little more productive. Your videos are good. I think you are sharing with us all the true side of what we are all experiencing. If you are needing a little assistance, what about a video on some of the creative changes you are making to your website as a behind the scenes kind of thing or a sneak peek into what is to come. That would be cool. Or, I would love to see some more of your art work if you have some new pieces you would like to show. What about trying a new recipe out of the coles magazine and vlogging it. :) hope these ideas help....and hope that the move back to Canada is swift and smooth.

Dear Rachel. This video gave me hope. It showed a side of you that I really liked seeing. A very intimate side, it felt like talking to a friend about this whole damn thing, and that is the beauty of it, it makes us closer. It did not show how boring your life is, it showed your drive and passion for all the things you want and wish you had the energy to do. Vulnerability is an immensely hard thing to show, and I think that you showed great power. in doing so. Thank you.

Don’t beat yourself up for not feeling motivated. This pandemic is crazy for everyone and we’re all having to adjust even those like yourself who have always ‘worked’ from home before it. In the past you would have been able to change it up and work in a coffee shop or with your you tube friends to change it up and motivate yourself. So instead of beating yourself up and slogging through your to do list, how about picking 3 items each day off the list? One for work, one for your home (since we’re all spending so much time In them anyway) and one for you. Something like edit video, mop floors, and a life admin task. Then feel free to slob out! By allowing yourself to have just attempt three things a day, you might find you end up ticking off more? Or, consider doing a retrospective day, a reverse to do list if you will. Write down what you DID do! And getting out of bed, getting dressed and putting on make up totally count as 3 separate things! You might surprise yourself with what you do achieve each day! Last suggestion, GIVE IN. Take a day or two, or every afternoon, cozy up with your tea and blankets and give yourself permission to take the time. You might find you bounce back quicker if you don’t try to push though and listen to what you body needs?

I’ve been working from home for the past 4 months. It has been a big adjustment, I must say. I work in IT so it’s normal to work from anywhere but being home all the time is also exhausting. At first I felt like I don’t want to do anything, I didn’t have motivation at all. My husband adjusted great to the home office but I didn’t. But after a while I decided to do the best out of it. Started having better morning routines that include a workout every day, for at least 15 minutes. Then started with better food, cooking fresh every day and eventually I felt better and better. Don’t be upset that you’re feeling this way. It is normal. Allow yourself some time to do nothing and take one step at a time at doing something that makes you smile and happy. It’ll get better! ☺️

I'm working from home and one thing I've being doing to really motivate myself everyday is - having a calm morning rountine. I literally wake up two hours before I need to start work (9am). It's quiet in the house, I get a small workout in and have a cup of tea on the sofa. It allows me to feel like I've had some time to myself before I have to devote 8 hours to work! :) P.s love your videos - they normally give me motivation!

My video suggestions are: 1. How to be able to live when feeling totally down and unmotivated 2. How to find friends 3. How to behave with respect for others, when I don't agree with them 4. How to handle mentally demanding situations 5. How to get along with colleagues who are constantly gossiping and complaining 6. How to start to believe in myself 7. How to work with my energy (and don't feel totally drained and exhausted every evening)

I was super unmotivated and didn't get out of bed for six weeks... But then, I got a new job (still at home, but working)! Since then, I've been extremely productive and happy and each day has purpose. You'll get past this slump eventually. Push through the rough spots! Just a suggestion... First, Keep making lists for yourself and stay organized and planned out. Second, set the timer for 10 minutes and just work on one of your list items until the timer dings. If you've found your mojo keep going... If not, let yourself have a rejuvenating break (10 minutes) and then try again!

I am really trying to make new routines, because all of my normal ones got so shook up. I would suggest that you vlog your attempts and struggle (even failure) at trying to make a routine to increase your productivity. We are all struggling right now, one way or another. 1. you ARE a magical unicorn being- and no one can change that 2. i’ve been where you are.. and it’s called burnout. what you need is a break from the routine of being quarantined. even if everyday is different, you are in lockdown every day and that is burning you out. try to do something you’d enjoy that won’t break social distancing. rent an airbnb somewhere you can drive to. either by nature or cool outdoor sculptures or something And take hikes, go on walks (you haven’t shown any in your vids but you did when you were with your mom) or rent a cAr, drive to the beach for the day- borrow someone’s puppy and take him with you. And then give your self a day or two to give in and do nothing. Wanna sleep all day- do it. Wanna sit in the couch and binge watch fave Disney movies, do it! then back to work. It helped me. I just took a Friday and Monday and made a long weekend my mini vacation. Totally helped!! If all elder fails- do a video call workout with some friends- where you follow along a workout but you’re all on video so you can talk.

Hi Rachel, thank you for your videos, please continue. I've been struggling with motivation for the last year. As a beginning interior designer, I have taken too many underrated projects. I worked all day and night, didn't have time to sleep or rest, and was actually so tired that I didn't do much work as a result. Along with the reconstruction of our apartment and the planning of the wedding (which was due to the coronavirus with only 10 people and I plan it in large again next year) was overwhelming. Now I try to complete overdue projects, organize my life, find daily routines with working from home and value my time. But it so hard and some days I just drink my tea/coffe and stay in bed all day. You are soo inspiring and I love your way of videos. In fact, you are only one of 3 that I follow regularly for a long time (I apologize for my English, I'm from Czech Republic).

Hi Rachel, it's ok to feel like this sometimes. I live in Poland and here the Covid-19 situation is not so bad now, we are still social distancing but most of the restrictions have been lifted. Still, I remember I felt so miserable when we were forced to stay at home. I work at school so I were supposed to teach on-line, I struggled so much with everything. Getting my students to understand the material I was teaching and also coping with the technology issues they had was so frustrating that it made me fall back into depression and anxiety. The motivation level was so low that I had to force myself to get up from bed and I had to find a reason to get up everyday. But believe me it will pass. You are so good at what you do, your videos are amazing, just keep pushing through and everything will be ok. Lots of love form Poland ❤️

That's the problem. Getting started. I recently heard someone say to give yourself five minutes. If after five minutes you really don't feel like doing what you're doing than give yourself permission to stop. Usually, I have found that I keep going. But, I have to start.

Rachel it's funny because when I'm feeling unmotivated, I like to watch your videos! They put me in a much better mood and I instantly feel like I can take on anything I need to do that day. I've definitely been feeling such a lack of motivation and on some days even felt an existential crisis coming on. I think it's good to remind yourself that SO many people are currently feeling like this because of the pandemic. I hope you get your mojo back soon lovely. I know others will agree with me that you're definitely an inspiring woman! Xx

Just wondering if your energy levels changed when you started eating more of those muscle meals? That happened to me, so I switched it up and now feel more myself energy wise. I think the double cooking zaps all the nutrients from the food, not sure but just a theory! Love your vlogs! They are getting me through my winter/covid blues xo

Hi! Fellow Melburnian here checking in from iso 2.0. I am enjoying watching you struggle with motivation, deciding what to do and deciding what to eat and how many coffees to have! It makes me laugh and smile because I feel the exact same way. This extended isolation is definitely taking its toll on mental health for everyone. Keep doing what you are doing xx

Hi Rachael. Ive been working from home since March, and I promise my get up and go has well and truely gone missing. My only plan at this time is to try to stay safe. When you find your motivation pls share, mine might be hiding nearby yours.

I know this feeling 😕 I hate not knowing what I'm doing and I've felt like this for a while😅 The only way forward is to push sometimes even when you feel like you have hit a motivation wall. Also love your hair at the start of this video ❤️❤️

You are not alone! I’m trying to become a KZbinr and it has been so hard at the moment I’ve made and published some the others are on my laptop and it’s like there’s a new problem each time! You still keep me motivated, you got this! Can you show how you started KZbin? And do your videos please?

Loving your videos now as much as ever. And the main reason is no matter what your subjects, it's you that makes your videos what they are, whether you are making pizza, sitting on the couch, talking, drawing, motivating, no matter, they always make me feel good and that's because of who you are! Even in this video when you think you're not doing much, you motivated me to get on with sorting my taxes! Hope you got to enjoy that wine!

Hi Rachel, I actually really enjoy seeing your daily life and cleaning/organizing videos. They have a relaxing vibe and it motivates me to do the same. For other videos, I’d love to see something on time management, and maybe some advice or “sit down and talk” type of videos. Also a video about life in Australia could be fun! I’m from the US and I’ve never been to Australia so those of us from other countries might enjoy learning about life there. Maybe a video on how life is different in Australia vs. Canada? Just some ideas! Love your videos.

Girl you are too funny! We feel ya! We are ALL in the same boat!! I am trying to really get a structured morning & evening routine to help with this dreaded feeling. Walking, yoga, meditation, journaling, reading, aromatherapy with a diffuser, hot baths/hot shower & also set intentions for your day and practice affirmations. We NEED to get grounded. It is so tough but adjust have to stay positive and move on. Great job! Happy juice! 🍷 LOVE THAT! 😄

Don't feel so bad. I think it's okay if the video's are not like normal, because your life is not normal right now. Seing how you cope with the situation is enough inspiration. And life will get back to normal again and you will be in Canada making videos about organisation, home styling, cleaning and all the things you normally do. The best of wishes to you.
