Rachel I think you should consider doing a whole series on how you style you apartment. I feel like you have an amazing eye for detail and I constantly find myself trying to eye your apartments for inspiration lol!

sometimes when i write to do lists, i also add things that i've already done because then i can tick something off before the "real" start. great motivation because it isn't just a long list with tasks but a lit with some successes.
@rachelcavanagh37824 жыл бұрын
Wow I really like that idea. I think I’ll try making a to do list for the week but then a completion list every day. I don’t think I could remember every little thing without a list for the week but I think the daily completion list might be a really nice addition!

Yesss that’s so funny. I started doing it a couple weeks ago for similar reasons! Instead of a to do list I started writing the task I’m about to work on then chk off as soon as I complete - almost a reverse to do list. It felt great and more manageable. I wondered if anyone else does this and then I see your video. Love it

I've been doing completion lists for years. Not consistently, but generally lists make me happy. So when my To Do list didn't have any check marks I will write down what I actually did that day and check them off. Instant happy and satisfaction. Love your videos. 😃

I feel like that is something that I need to try! I either do not write a to do list and I keep everything in my head which is not good but when I do write a to list and I don't get everything done, I get discouraged! I loved watching your video and thank you for the idea!!
@Garoky14 жыл бұрын
I’ve always done my lists this way. I find it very motivating. When you have an unending list of projects/things to do, it looks exhausting and it’s never done. However if you write down what you’ve actually accomplished, no matter how small the task, you feel a sense of accomplishment of all you’ve actually done and every little thing helps you get that much farther.

I did a video a few months ago on a similar system, I call it the reverse to do list. Or my "did it" list. I find it very motivating on my down days.

I love the “completed” list! I’ve been struggling a lot on the days I don’t go in to work, and having a toddler that doesn’t sleep through the night probably doesn’t help. I watched your video this mid morning and have given the “completed” list a go, and I am so much more motivated! To do lists always seem like a good idea, but end up overwhelming me and I end up down on myself because I didn’t get much done. I will be implementing the completed list into my day from now on! Thanks for the huge motivation tip💕
@brendagoodale6044 жыл бұрын
I'm using the completion list method now and in the past but sometimes I will revert back to the same ole to do list's. But like you said, it does prove to be a "let down", when you review it the next day and realize you didn't really do anything on the to do list or forgot to do the most important and basics. I find for the most part I'm more productive if I just write down what I have done or accomplished every time I take a break during the day. When things get to over scheduled or ridged with a large to do list I have a tendency to shut down and become withdrawn and apathetic, for lack of a better word, I get depressed. Great video and sound's like a good productive plan, thanks for you're encouraging take on the dreaded To Do List. Have a great week. Brenda

I love the idea of creating completion lists, right down to the very basics 😍 I‘ve heard a tip of having your to-do list not as a daily thing, but weekly. So if it’s not done today, there’s always tomorrow - Sunday. I’ve found it really useful especially for thing I’ve convinced myself are ‘important’ when it really isn’t!

I have been doing ‘What I did today’ lists for a long time. I write each task in my planner as I complete it. It makes me feel happy 💖. I rarely write to do lists. I find them less motivating. Your bedroom looks beautiful. I like the colours of the cross stitch threads you bought

I still use "To-Do" lists (surprise) but I find I use my Journal as my completion list as this usually tidies up and closes the day off. The downside is, it's not usually done until around 4 or 5pm each day, so probably doesn't help with any immediate anxiety about not getting stuff done, but has always served me well.
@suzisaintjames4 жыл бұрын
I use rings and print my day on a spread (left and right pages). Down the far left, I've printed the hours from midnight to midnight. I use this to preplan my appointments and TV shows. But I also use it to fill in my completed tasks next to the approximate time. That way if I forget to notate a task there's always space. This also gives me a place to notate my sleep and fasting windows. Also, how much screen time I enjoy and am shifting to productive time. On the far right page, I do keep a "to do" list, but it's mainly a brain dump/ someday maybe list. Otherwise, I'd never remember what's on my mind when I need it. The rest of the space I use for notes on phone calls, emails, planning goals and working out limiting thoughts. If there's space left over and I'm ambitious, I add art... stickers, stamps or even doodles. If I'm not ambitious, minimal is fine too! It reflects who I was that day. ❤🌅🌵😷

I also have got quite angry in the last few months with To-Do lists or planning stuff. So I just put the impossible stuff into my backlog and do the stuff I know I can do. I then do something similar with writing a list, but not in the morning......usually rough notes (one word) during the day and then add as part of my journal at the end of the day.

‘Mrs Hinch’ from IG does Ta Da lists for the same reasons you said. Sometimes you focus on what still needs doing and not all the little things you do. I have filled in some timed daily pages in my planner to see what I spend my day doing. I totally understand the reluctance to go out. In the uk we were all stuck at home for about 10 weeks then non essential shops opened June and we could meet up outside etc and think it was July restaurants opened etc. I’ve only recently been to DIY shops, restaurants etc as on one hand I wasn’t desperate to go and on the other hand I was out the habit of going so just didn’t. It does feel strange at first but you do feel the benefits after. Fingers crossed your restrictions are lifted soon x
