Luke there are only a few vlogs that truly I feel are true, yours is one of them. You have shown me so much and shared so much and I deeply respect you. Now for an honesty, I’m 69yrs old. So many of your decorating skills have made my home my safe haven. Your love for your family, Zara and your friends has made me a better person. Your love and devotion for Maggie helped me get another dog this year after the loss of old dog. His name is Rudy Arthur, huge black lab and my finest friend. Also I still can’t cook😃, even with your help. You inspire me. It’s okay to be sad and frustrated. You are helping so many even me at my age. Take care, be kind to yourself and know you are magnificent. As always cheers.

Totally understand...am Cancerian too....the emotional side is a typical trait. We are your 'family community' and we love you when you are either happy or a bit down. You have enjoyed living in London, but over time it can start to grate on you. When the time comes it will be amazingly rejuvenating for you when you do move and the occasional return to London will suffice. It is so true that people come and go through our lives as we grow/change/evolve. We are grateful for having had them in our lives but sometimes changes pull us apart. We all need coping mechanisms....well done for being honest and allowing us into your thoughts/feelings. Que sera sera. x P. S. you are still doing amazingly well for a 25 yr old!!

Aw Luke I was in tears watching your video, I totally get how you feel as a fellow cancerian I am very emotional and sensitive and I suffer from panic attacks, anxiety and depression and your video has really helped me thank you for sharing how you feel. You are helping so many people. I really feel for you, you are such a genuine, kind and caring young man and I just love how you are so honest and authentic. What you said about control is exactly me I need to be in control and I spiral down when I can’t control and with all that’s going on in the world just now I need to take the advice about if it doesn’t affect me in next 5 minutes stop worrying about it for the next 5 years what a lightbulb 💡 moment for me thank you. My daughter has been desperate to move house and has sold her house and she was so worried but do you know last week she found a house when she had almost given up looking and the lady said put in a bid and I will accept as she didn’t want any hassle so just wait and see you will find somewhere else when you don’t expect it. I love your videos you have so much to be grateful for your beautiful lady Zara and the gorgeous Maggie and your family and friends just to start. Thank you Luke for reminding me I have so much to be grateful for and keep being you. Much love to you and Zara 💕

This totally resonated with me as I moved last year to a house I thought would make me happy and less than a year later I have moved. And at first I felt like I had messed up but the new house is just beautiful. It’s cheaper and the street is so much quieter and neighbours are friendly too which makes such a difference. Like you said each day I am grateful for everything I have like a roof over my head and food and a job - I literally agree with everything you have said. PLEASE take all the time you need to stay happy and peaceful 🙏🏾

❤️ needed to hear this today. I'm a 58 yr old mum caring for my son 27, who has Downs Syndrome. I don't feel like me any more. I'm just mum the carer who doesn't have much of a life. I have a partner who is a big help. My son has autistic traits and challenging behaviour, is doubly incontinent and non verbal. He is very hard work physically and mentally. Emagine a 27 yr old man but who has some behaviours of a 2 yr old. Who gets agitated, aggressive, sometimes destructive and has limited understanding of the world around him. I haven't had a break since early 2019 and that was 2 nights. I also suffer from arthritic knees. I see people going on holidays, having lovely days out ...I'd love a week off but sadly it's impossible due to adult service budget cutbacks and personal finances but you have made me see we have a roof over our heads , food in the fridge and a car in the drive and my son goes to a day centre so i have a lot to be grateful for. You and Zara will get all you want in life when the time is right .. and you're right..let go of what you can't control. I'm sure this video has helped a lot of people. I wish you both well and look forward to coming on your journey with you through your videos. Much love and Thank you Luke . 😊 ❤️

Hi Luke, I'm a cancerian too so understand how you feel. After 62 years on this earth there's a few things I've learnt and no doubt many more I'll get to learn along life's journey. Two valuable lessons are: everything happens for a reason. Second is, challenges can build and mould character, making us stronger as we go. At the age of 22 I'd lost both my parents within 5 months of each other. I'd been married just 9 months. As you can imagine, I was devastated. A friend of mine handed me a poem written by Corrie Ten Boom called My life is just a weaving. Have a read, it helped me so much in learning about letting go of control xxx
@alinamonica6726

Yes,I agree with you: everything happens for a reason (although we don't understand it when it happens) and all the challenges mould your character and your strenght. You have the chance to become a better version of yourself and learn with every experience you live. Obviously, people that do a no 2 on your doormat, or no 1 where you park your car, have serious mental issues,in my opinion, just troubled people with severe trauma😔 they need healing, but first acknowledgement that they have a problem...and for us,patience, to wait for what will come and accept what it is and just let go, sometimes 🤗

my grandpa used to say "if it's not okay just yet, it's not the end" and that's something i live by now, in this moment we may not feel happy, or content to where we are now in life, but things will get better and that is a reason to keep going and to keep fighting, taking it day by day, accepting what you feel and then someday, things will be okay again, it may not be now, or tomorrow or even next month, but that day will come be proud of how far you've come by staying true to yourself and fighting for the things you want and love, cus there are so many people out that who are SO proud of you!!

Well that made me sit up and listen! So sorry you are going through a sad time but so glad you have found and shared what is helping you. I’m in my mid 40’s and find myself half way through replacing my four major leg joints due to early arthritis. This is not where I thought I would be and it’s somewhat taken the wind out of my sails. But that point about control is so true. So after watching your blog, I’ve gone out side, just for a little walk to enjoy the sun before it’s too hot. Did it hurt? Yes a little. But did I smile? Yes. And today I’ll know I did something I chose to and it made me smile. Thank you Luke, and may you have your smile today x

Oh Luke, I’m so proud of you for sharing your thoughts, feelings and struggles with us all. 🥰 I’ve been thinking for a while now that behind your lovely smile all was not well (Mum instincts kicking in ☺️). As much as we all love the vlogs that you share with us about your life with Maggie and Zara, you definitely must put yourself first. I’m sure that I won’t be the first to say, but we all have struggles in life. These days those struggles seem even harder as we try to cope with the world that we find ourselves living in. Don’t feel guilty for taking time for yourself. I read today, “Self care is giving the world what’s best of you, instead of what’s left of you”. Let yourself rest and take care. 🥰 Sam xx

I'm also a cancerian but remember, Happiness is not a destination, it's a journey. We must take each moment to try and stay positive.. Setting goals are great but it's no good to be unhappy until we reach that goal as it will stop us ever getting there. We have to live in the present but keep the faith in the moment and don't rush the future.. There is a very true saying in, Everything happens for a reason and there is no such thing as coincidence. Our destiny is mapped out but we can manifest certain things by making what we do in the present mould the best paths to our destiny. Keep the faith and live the best way in the moment, Stay strong and positive and everything will happen at the right time 🙏 💕

You can only trust yourself, knowing that YOU are a good person with good intentions. Finding purpose and happiness isn’t always easy. Thanks for starting the conversation about a complex and complicated topic, being human in turbulent times. Stay positive with hope. Just find love for yourself and others. Not easy, I know. We were in London 3 weeks ago. It was a trip 51 years in the making. It started back when I read about Stonehenge in one of my books, most likely a history book of some sort. Probably during research for one of the endless term papers teachers are so fond of assigning. My sister and I had so much fun; she'd fulfilled her lifelong dream of seeing Buckingham Palace and the changing of the Guards. We got home on the 24th of July, a week before my birthday. Then had a couple funerals to attend: one was unexpected and the other was as my cousin had cancer. That funeral was Thursday. Since then, I've been sleeping odd hours of the day and awake during the night hours. I usually get up with the sun and go to sleep with the sun. I know, to a certain extent, what you were/are feeling. Both my sister and I crossed off an item on our list of dreams. And now we're trying to find something to put in its' place. Listening to you has helped me figure out a bit more of my "malaise" as meditation wasn't helping as much. Chii-miigwitch, many thanks, for having this chat and I will be checking out that podcast. Take care, stay safe.

As you know you have viewers across the whole age spectrum - I am one of the ‘oldies’ and, although this will be hard for you to accept now, it can take many many years to find your happy place. Don’t be in too much of a hurry to try and get there at breakneck speed as you may just miss something wonderful on the way. You have started a slightly different journey now with the help of Mo and others. And with gratitude in mind that God ( or the universe) that you wake up each morning and have your youth and good health to see you through another day. X

I love that you speak your truth and share your feelings. I can connect with what you said. I get unhappy and don’t know why also. I am a restless individual who constantly need’s change. It took me along time to figure that out. So I find ways to feed these feelings. I suffer from social anxiety but through therapy, education and meds I am me again. Some of the points you made are spot on from therapy. The small things. Always wanting is unhealthy. This image or goal of what we should be or have accomplished by now is destructive. Social media is terrible for this. I love your channel because you are real and for that I say thank you. I am always here to listen. You are so loved and valued by this community. Luke, I have dealt with depression for over 11 years and each day is different. I just turned a young 60 and am learning things about myself every day. I too am a bit of a perfectionist and like to be in control so I give myself permission to let the small things go because it’s a lot of wasted energy and, yes, in 5 years is it gonna matter. One thing that’s very important is that it’s OK to have a “pity party” every once in awhile. I’ve been in the darkness but I’ve come out stronger. The fact that you recognized what was happening to you and you sought help and understanding is HUGE! I don’t know you but I can tell you are a very genuine person who loves freely and openly and I love you! ❤ (and Zara and Maggie!)

Awwww Luke.....this video made me cry & I just wanted to give you the biggest hug ever & tell you that everything will be fine. You have the kindest soul of anyone I know & I dont know if its your star sign or not but you are a people pleaser......a beautiful quality to have BUT that means what you do to please everyone else is clearly not pleasing you & ultimately you will have people walking over you. Its time for you now hun.....put down your phone, take maggie for a walk, go lay or sit somewhere & just stare.....look around you & see what really is beautiful.....it may be a sunrise or a sunset or some architect but something that just is there & try & clear your mind whether its for a few minutes or a few hours makes no difference but do it for YOU & no-one else. You are a beautiful soul hun & you deserve happiness.....take each day as it comes & a blessing & you will achieve your dreams......does it really matter how long???? Not really!!!! I hope you find your inner happiness.....until then, accept a REALLY BIG healing hug from me! 😍 xx

Thanks so much for the beautiful honest and open post! I have been going through the exact same thing and I can’t say how much comfort solidarity brings during these extremely anxious times. I moved into my flat with my sis just before the first lockdown… and I too thought it was my “dream home”… but that all changed when I eventually met my really nasty neighbours! What once felt like a secure home to feel guarded in; suddenly felt like a scary prison. Like you; my first reaction was that I wanted to run away, to find safety somewhere else…anywhere but here! But my amazing sister and therapist both reminded me that in order to find happiness anywhere you must find it within first…(Believe me it’s so much easier to say when you’re not in the midst of an anxiety attack!) but I really do think that it’s so important to find the strength within to move through these awful / scary times before making new big decisions. If we can do that; and get ourselves into a more stable state of mind first- we will undoubtedly manifest the beautiful new shift in life that we want… Just wanted you to know you’re not alone, and that I know we will all find a dreamy place to live very soon… just gotta take this time as a massive learning curve along our journey. Sending you love and peace! Thanks again 💜

you made me think of my past when i loved to go to the mall to buy something new because i thought it made me happy . now what makes me happy is to go to waterfalls and hike the area and just be out in nature . i love to explore small towns and places to eat . when i get stressed i use essential oils ...that helps a lot for me ....

Hi Luke I am glad you have started to be honest with yourself .As this is the first step towards finding inner peace ! Its healthy to have a cleanse & reavaluate your life ! I am 59 yrs old & was made redundant last year after 18 yrs working for the NSPCC & working with abused children .!! I felt low & worried !,However I realised I had no control of what happened & learnt what I could to change how I was feeling. I am now working in a fostering Team & I love my job !! I want to move house but the timing is not right & so I continue to save & be grateful for having a lovely house ! Life is precious & you never should give up on your dreams but we learn to gradually get there! Life is always throwing a curve ball & you have to adapt ! Both yourself & Zara are precious & you will get there !!Love to you both X ❤

Dearest Luke every day we are blessed to wake and be able to walk and live a life ,your boat was rocked and it made you feel unsafe in your surroundings but it was a blip and the best way to stay happy within yourself is to live in the moment for tomorrow is not here and yesterday has gone we cannot control a lot of things in our life but we just take each day as a new one yes you little crabs love your shell but you also like to be near water so I think a nice day at the seaside would clear your energy's and and make you feel a lot clearer in the mind lot's of love and a big hug to you both.xxx

Mo Gawdat is a life changer! I too came across him recommended by my daughter. Yes, everyone needs to hear the words of wisdom from this guy. Also Dr. Rangan Chatterdee omg he's truly incredible too. I listen to all these guys including Steven Bartlett. All spot on, all will change our lives and ways of thinking. Bless you Luke for your honesty and showing your vulnerability. I think most of us have been changed by this pandemic. It's left a remnant which has scarred us. But we will move on and learn from it all. Bless you and your household in every way.

Your candidness is applaudable....you are speaking words a lot of people out there are experiencing - so many are feeling stuck, sad, together with others yet alone - times have been hard, different, difficult - recognizing feelings and opening up about them is a step toward healing - professionals are out there to help people process, you or anyone out there who needs that help should reach out....I'm a firm believer in gratitude, breathing and staying in touch with right here, right now as we count our blessings and strive for the light at the end of that tunnel - wishing you a peaceful, joyous journey ahead 👍😊

Hi Luke, I was nodding along with everything you said in your video. I too am someone who hates being unable to control my situations. Becoming self employed was the best thing I ever did and I wish I’d taken the plunge years earlier! However I’m strangely grateful for what the jobs I hated over the years taught me about how to cope with difficult situations, so I guess it wasn’t all bad. It’s crucial to be able to manage the symptoms of unhappiness with positive thinking and a “c’est la vie” attitude but in my experience it’s always better to address the causes of the problems as far as one is able. From watching your content I know that you never shy away from addressing things that make you unhappy and your future house move will happen I have no doubt! Rest assured that your videos bring so much comfort and inspiration to so many people and we hugely admire your entrepreneurship, attitude and tenacity. Keep up the good work - it means a lot to us. Living in a place where you are not happy can be so bad as it happened to me however over time I found the home I needed . It can be easy to forget to live in the moment when I get caught up in work and other life challenges. I enjoy this vlog and it makes a lot of sense to me what you covered and I appreciate how authentic you are in sharing this with us. One of my best friends was a lady who lived to be 102 years old. She had so many interests in life always kept a great sense of humor no matter how bad her day was and I think that was a secret to her happiness and longevity. So know that wherever you and Zara go (and Maggie) that you have our love and support. You're a great inspiration.

I'm sorry for the things that have happened in your neighborhood recently. I've had similar experiences. I'm so glad that you're learning to let go of the things you can't control and also about gratitude. I struggle with that too. It's too bad we can't just pick up our homes and move them somewhere else, but we can't. The change in mindset is definitely helpful. For me, I find that working outside in my yard lifts my spirits. I've also rediscovered reading cozy mysteries and also re-reading some of my favorite books from my teenage years are also helpful. I enjoy the escapism; it brightens my mood. Also being able to Facetime with my daughter is extremely helpful as she lives over 828 miles (1,333 km) away. I think the pandemic has changed the way many of us look at life and what's important to us. I always enjoy your videos and I'm grateful that you shared your feelings with us in this one. Take care.

Hi Luke, I know exactly where you are coming from. I'm usually a happy person, but the last few years I have felt melancholy, and like you it's a series of events which has triggered this off. Covid, health issues with me and family members. I was just talking to my husband about this yesterday and I told him I just have to have a word with myself, and 9 times out of 10 it works! I try and think of good things which will be happening ie, our holiday to Florida in 3 weeks. I loved your vlog and could totally relate to all you said. A lot of things that happen which we think is a major thing is really just trivia, and we have to get past that way of thinking. Very best wishes to you, and you will get there. xxx

I'm so happy for you. Your personal growth is commendable and such a great example for others. As a mother of 3 daughters (the youngest being 27) and the eldest of 5 siblings, I have watched many go through this stage of life including myself. 25 is a big milestone and we all put pressure on ourselves to reach certain goals. There are many stages in life and there will be many more goals achieved and many that will not. You're doing the best thing for yourself by training your brain and ultimately protecting your heart to handle those highs and lows. This is not an easy process however you're handling it the best way possible by reaching out for support. xo Teresa

Dear Luke, I reached out with open arms and gave you a loving virtual hug. I totally understand your feeling sad. I think a lot of people around the world have been affected emotionally by the rippling effect that Covid has brought upon us. I have been especially sad this year too. I deeply miss the women of my life: my mother, my closest cousin, and my best friend have all passed; my daughter has been living in Portugal on the other side of the world from me for the last four years; and my sister has moved to another city. Sometimes I feel like I have nowhere to go and no one to hang out with. However I am truly grateful that my boys - husband and son - are home. During Covid it was just the three of us. I’m also very grateful for your channel and the care you put into your vlogs. It’s like you’re one of my boys and Zara is one of my girls. Thank you for sharing your feelings and insights. You are refreshingly authentic and real. Love to you (Aunty) Angela x
