Young lady. I applaud you. I'm deeply saddened at the thought of this stuff happening and noone is even aware. The demented sick minds and darkened hearts that could even do this kind of stuff to children. You are a stellar human being and God will use you and your siblings to bring others into the light of freedom, exposure, cessation, deliverance and healing. God bless you all.

I don't care if you were seven, seventeen, twenty,... IT WAS NOT YOUR FAULT!!! So many years of trauma... Please understand that even at twenty, there was a part of you that was still that traumatized little girl, just trying to survive. You did the best that you could. You did what you had to do to survive and protect yourself as best you could until you were emotionally strong enough to get out. That doesn't come with a magic age. Speaking as a mom; I am SO very proud of you!

I have a real hard time reconciling that your mother has had to do zero jail time knowing that she was aware of at least the physical and emotional abuse which makes her very complicit as an adult. And all the storytelling, it feels like you're the parent protecting her which is so wrong. What we've never seen is her come out and apologize. What you need to know is that we are all very aware that your mother did not protect you and she was the adult regardless if she was being abused also. In the end, it was not your mother that saved you and your siblings, it was you. You are so amazing and I'm so proud of you. By you speaking up, you rescued your siblings

I love the way you incorporated your music into the audiobook it was beautifully done. Always remember our brains are not fully formed until we’re in our late 20s, and this abuse was done TO you which included physical abuse. How in the world could you plot an escape where physical abuse wasn’t a possibility if you were unsuccessful until you were at a minimum a legal adult, your every move was controlled. Don’t beat yourself up for not escaping sooner.

The book is written so well Jessica!! You are so brave and courageous. I hope you realize that you paved the way for the rest of your family. I'm sorry your mother couldn't be that person for you. I PRAY she has totally let go of her ties to your dad. If not, that must be so very painful. I hear and see you!!

I am so looking forward to this book because I know what a triumph it is for you to use your voice to speak truth to others!! I have been a fan for years and was one of the kickstarter folks who funded your album. I finally saw you live in Nashville at a concert of songwriters - such a wonderful experience - and got to talk to you briefly. I hope you continue to use your voice, because when you sing the lyrics you’ve written, you truly transform the room and touch everyone who hears you. God bless you -- and also your husband mr.bootstraps for always seeing your beauty and for helping you find your voice 😊

We just got your book into our library yesterday, I am half way through. Oh my goodness. You and your family are so very blessed in your journey to even still be here. Since I started reading last night I am heartbroken that you and your family were so groomed by pure evil. Thank you so much for being a voice and finding your courage to be so open where so many , still have not found their voice. Much love and many prayers to you and your family.

Wow, Jessica, what a brave girl and young woman you were and still are! I’m very glad you have found your voice and a good relationship. There is so much abuse in the world and in homes in so many forms. What you went through the type of abuse, is truly so sad and unbelievable in that your own father could hurt you and your family in his actions. So thankful that God is a heart mender, a healer of all things! ❤

Thank you for sharing your story! Incest is such an overwhelming shameful experience, and most victims stay quiet because we blame ourselves. I hope and pray those who read your book (and find your story through your music) will find the courage to speak out and reclaim their innocence.

I read your book then I listened to you read your book. I own all your families CDs, I have a T shirt with your family’s photo. I met everyone including your dad years ago and got a photo autographed by the entire family. If you would like them I can ship them to you. I met you not long before you left. I noticed that no one in your family was smiling or seemed happy that day. Your dad was arrogant Much respect to you. You are brave, you are a warrior

To Jess & Mr. Bootstraps, don't worry about the low view count it is meaningless Seriously no joke! I just want you to know your video / your family's story / your story (you are leading by telling), will over time reach millions who will come (by the grace of God) to a place of healing, even a place of preventing and a place of changing the world, all because you sat down and decided to do this and to meet this head on, and not just do it, BUT DO IT WELL. Countless lives changed over time (I speak of your future audience years from now). YT view count is meaningless, but God's view count for His children in the end is much different. Your story matters for the souls in this nation and in the world. Thank you for doing all you do, to (the one and only true) God be all the glory.
