Yup, I feel like he needed way more screen time and was being setup to be a huge villain in the next movie to really have his character hit peak villain. Hope they didn’t just end him like that.

@@SaytinhimselfI do agree with you, but I think him having less screen time makes his scenes feel MUCH more rewarding and cool. Kinda like how Darth moul was only in 1 movie but is known as one of the greatest Star Wars villains behind vader. And Ps, I think he’s still alive.

@@sharpshoota8274 yea I mean I loved the way they introduced him and waited basically half the movie. Just made me feel like we got less screen time so they could set him up to be a real force in the coming movies. But only time will tell.

Yeah that's the impression i always got from these new ape movies. In reality apes besides humans can't speak because physically they can't. Their anatomy down to their vocal chords don't allow them. I assumed post awakening they all could understand and replicate speech but never used it as a reliable form of communication was cause it took way more effort then signing. Caesar did it more and more since he was the main point of contact between ape and human characters, others did got emphasis, koba did story wise to tell the audience he rivaled Cesar and bad ape because we all know why

It's so awesome to see the actors figuring out how to work around Ape vocal chords and the obstacles they pose to create human sounds, opposed to just speaking like a regular human, even 310 years or so after the AZ virus infected the ape and human populace.

The rediculous part of all of this, is that as much as I have loved the new movies: humans are thus far the only apes that can can talk, because we evolved a very specific larynx/oropharynx, through random mutation that was likely subtle at first, likely a tiny outpouch of laryngeal cells that allowed for a new range of sounds to be made, which isn't even abnormal today. People are born all the time that can produce sounds that most people can't. Over time that became favored by the population and/or the environment, meaning something about the ability to produce new sounds, made the individual mutation more sexually desirable and/or more suited for surviving/thriving in the environment it was in. The trait gets passed on to offspring, and like many other subtle changes, like loss of large percentages of body hair (I quite like the aquatic ape hypothesis), led to enough subtle changes over time, that there was a speciation event that led to a branch of apes WITH the biological equipment to actually produce vocal sounds and develop language. It would be a very LONG process, likely hundreds of generations, and NOT within the lifetime of one ape named Caeser. So that shit bugs me, and gives people even more warped view of what evolution actually is. Greater Apes like those depicted in the new series, simple can't fine tune vocalization, like that. When Caesar yells NO, it gave me chills, but its likely not possible within his or many more generations. That's why in the original series there was time travel, wormholes, etc. But even then, it wouldn't be thousands of years. Try hundreds of thousands at least. Not to mention, the original movies felt very much like a racist commentary on America. Especially when you add Charlton Heston, and what police around the time and after, were saying about "the thin blue line" and how they were "the only thing separating civilization from the jungle" obviously meaning black people. So...yea. Think again before wearing a thin blue line emblem/flag, because thats what you are saying. Its not the original intent of the symbolism but its more about the resurgence of the symbol during segregation and civil rights era. Similar to the confederate flag.

I took my last biomedicine course in genetics and bioinformatics in like 2010, and at that time we went over the fact that what we used to call "junk dna" is actually incredibly important....and weve always known that. The term Junk DNA wasnt even really used in science past a certain point once we knew what exxons and introns were, and telomeres. Telomeres code for nothing, but they are FAR from being junk...they are essentially the life clock for the cell. And all the shit in between genes is, non coding regions, are up/down regulating, shit like that...the stuff that ACTUALLY gets functional mutations.
